If you look carefully at the famous Trump quote, you can see exactly who Trump called rapists. The reason why lefties have such a hard time seeing the truth is because they refuse to remove from consideration those who Trump excluded. They forget to exclude people who mexico does not send, Mexico's best, you or you, or people who aren't bringing lots of problems.

So you need all? He said Mexico was sending rapists. Which is a lie . However, the disclaimer that some of them were not, says that most of the Mexicans are rapists. That is a horrible thing to say and it says Mexicans that are coming here are rapists, just maybe not all of them. Nobody would think all of the Mexicans coming here are rapists. They have been coming here a long time. It was a lie and it damned Mexicans as rapists. We got trump's message.

If you include people who Trump excluded then you are perpetuating untruths. There is a reason why you refuse to separate out those who Trump excluded, and it is because you are pushing untruths.

Trump lied when he said Mexico is sending rapists here, but he wasn't calling all Mexicans rapists, just the ones supposedly being sent here.
This might have been a dog whistle, but I think it's more likely that he was only talking about illegal immigrants.

Now that being said, Trump has said racist things to get attention. I just don't think this was one of them.

So you have it narrowed down to just the ones who Trump alleges Mexico to be sending. I am impressed. You can narrow it down a bit more if you exclude the rest of the ones that Trump excluded.
