Nobody ever said Springsteen’s Born in the USA was a patriotic song, certainly not Springsteen, well, except for Reagan who used it in his campaign ads till forced to remove it, that is probably why you don’t like Springsteen. It is a song about the confusion and frustration many working class Vietnam veterans felt when returning home.

I’m not a huge fan of Springsteen, never identified with the overthinking restlessness common to a lot of his offerings, but, I do recognize his brilliance and ability to write, produce, and preform his own music.
