My sister in Ohio is in quarantine. Her pool team buddy got it and they had been in contact enough as friends and didn't always have a mask on. I hope everything goes fine, her hubby was a chemo patient.

Best wishes for a safe holiday season to all. My family has similar issues.

There's a strong desire among Americans to return to normality, but ignoring reality isn't the best way to get there.

So far, tests are negative but that doesn't mean it will stay that way. I'm kind of depressed that Christmas may be on the down-low this season for much of the country. Stores even got wise and spread out Black Friday.

I hope her tests continue to stay negative. The holidays are going to be unhappy ones for a lot of us this year.

My wife is feeling that way too; her sister is going through chemo and has been worried about her due to COVID exposure since the sister's immune system is reduced. There's a lot of relatives in the area and they want to see the Aunt for Thanksgiving "because it might be her last". Me, being a funny pragmatist, said "if she (the sister) catches COVID from one of the kids, it will be her last."

My suggestion was to use tech. Kids are having birthdays by having all of their friends drive-by in a car and exchanging waves and shouts. Zoom is big, but Facetime works great too. Find a way to make it work without risking killing off several family members (through Six Degrees of Separation).

So what?
 
Since March my daughters family has been here with us , daughter her husband and three grandkids, me and my wife, big house , big yard
Working out great , since I and wife are high risk, works out great , school on the internet for 2 grandkids. zoom time with my son and his family

Thanks giving will almost be normal here as will Chanukah
 
Presently there are 17 members live, of which 10 I don't ignore. Percentage-wise, that's a personal best.
