Front of the house in Restaurants have long been generally well compensated.....$30 a hour is not rare.....it is the back of the house that has worked for slave pay, either because they had a lack of options or for love of the craft.
 
it costs an average of $2995 a month to rent an apartment in Manhattan and that's only because it is DOWN 7.8%.......Manhattan only has a $15 an hour minimum wage......wtf is the matter with them.......on the other hand, you can rent an apartment in Cadillac, MI for $500 a month.......shouldn't their minimum wage be 1/6th of Manhattan's minimum wage?......

in summary, the minimum wage is NOT a federal issue.....

$15/hour isn't a lot. That doesn't change that paying someone that for a $5/hour job is too much.

But why? If a restaurant makes a lot of money, then it may benefit the owners to pay such high salaries to draw in the best of the best. It's no different than when a sports team pays some retarded meathead millions of dollars to run around in tights.
