Trump Signs Exec Order Paving Way For Nuke Plant Construction

Seriously? How would you feel about a nuclear waste depository being put in your backyard?
Wouldn't bother me in the least. With the casks they've designed, spent fuel that has had about a year to decay before storage would be perfectly fine with me. That's just a relatively low-level alpha emitter with a bit of gamma coming out. No big deal. Hell, I could likely get more radiation from lying in my backyard getting a tan every day.

Much worse is having to do something like this:

R.3cc67a7685f66a675b12b41849c5959c

This will end up taking up many times the land area spent nuclear waste ever will. Nuclear waste is recyclable if we choose to do so, whereas spent, worn out wind turbine blades aren't and are not biodegradable. Their burial pretty much makes the land they're buried on worthless for any other use.

Solar panels are no better being uneconomical to recycle and largely worthless if recycled.

Ask Bing: Is nuclear waste recyclable?
You wouldn't want it in your backyard. No one does.

Yes, nuclear waste is recyclable. Just because the US doesn't, doesn't mean it can't be done and done where it's economically viable.

One of the big uses for recycled nuclear waste is using the recovered plutonium for batteries in deep space vehicles.

That's one example of many materials that can be recovered and reused from nuclear waste meaning that the true amount that cannot be reused is a fraction of the whole and miniscule compared to coal fly ash, wind turbine blades, solar panels, etc., all of which have serious limitations on recyclability.

Now you're deflecting. Your post was: "I wouldn't mind a nuclear waste dump on your backyard". You then said, "the waste is recyclable".

You agree that the U.S. doesn't recycle nuclear waste - so either you've forgotten what you said, or you're hoping I did.

Sure, if the U.S. recycled nuclear waste. But the U.S. does not. So, you ready for that nuclear waste dump in your backyard?

So now you're a nuclear physicist. :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

No, I don't claim to be that at all. All I did was use "Bing AI" to find out the U.S. doesn't recycle nuclear waste - we just bury it. Feel free to correct me if you find evidence otherwise.
Sorry this post ended up in the wrong place, I did not intent this post for you. This post was intended for T. J. Gardner.

They are also piddle power...and the cause of Spain's recent cold start event that effected France as well.

The US could recycle it, but the know-nothing, radical Leftist environmentalist types won't let it happen. Even unrecycled, it's no big deal. In fact, it'd be preferable to say, a wood pellet factory like the ones the environmental types love because they believe that wood pellet stoves are very environmentally friendly.

Those plants give off horrendous amounts of VOC's and dust pollution that are really, really bad for you. Nuclear waste? It just sits there and does nothing.

B.S.!!!!

Here's a quiz for you: Who's in charge now? Who was in charge 2017 -2020? Where was the "lets recycle nuclear waste here" bill?

Even unrecycled, nuclear waste is no big deal.
B.S.!!!!

"Yes, nuclear waste is dangerous. It can have severe effects on health and the environment, including causing cancer and genetic problems for future generations. The risks associated with nuclear waste are serious, as it can contaminate the environment and there is currently no long-term storage solution that is fully reliable."

In what part of your ass do you pull these "facts" from?

Yes, asbestos and lead paint just "sit there" too!

Do you ever get tired of being wrong?

And once up and running pay for themselves and make massive amounts of reliable electrical power unlike wind and solar.
thta is not true.
Nerdburger has that same idiot mentality that has the diaper wetters running around sniveling that Trump's policies have failed cuz thousands of plants weren't built and up and running immediately the day after he instituted them; you know the typical whiney brat mentality demanding instant gratification. Most of it comes from the lack of two parent households.

Irrelevant. Getting that program started is longer than just one administration. Look at the Resolution copper mine in Arizona. The US is begging for copper production and the greentards on the radical Left have held this mine up for decades.

From a combination of experience in nuclear power and education in that field. Your juvenile site is hardly worth reading. Spent nuclear fuel is a solid that emits alpha radiation. That can't even penetrate your skin. Unless you plan on eating it, it's harmless when stored. The small amount of gamma given off is not that big a deal. It's barely more radioactive long term than uranium ore after refining.
Yes, asbestos and lead paint just "sit there" too!

It does. I remove asbestos sheathed wiring-- the greasy grey pre-"Romex" all the time from old buildings. So long as you don't make it friable (airborne) it's no big deal. I have my guys cut it up rather than pull it out to avoid that and it goes in a double garbage bag. No big deal. Lead paint is the same way. Don't eat it and you're fine.
Do you ever get tired of being wrong?

I'm not wrong.
