Are those the charges? When does the trial start?
You've got a phone number, handjob, call!
Are those the charges? When does the trial start?
1) If Trump took classified documents to his basement in Mar-A-Lago is it not fair to investigate him?
2) If Trump lied about having more documents after having returned some of them, is it not fair to investigate that?
3) If the FBI had knowledge that Trump had documents belonging to the government, that he would not return, is it not fair to get a warrant and take them?
1) yes
2) it is
3) it is.
Now a question for you, if the FBI has reason to believe trump has documents he shouldn't have why didn't they say that?
We should have known that the FBI raided the personal home of an ex-president regardless of what Trump did it didn't do.
They did say that.
Trump lied.
He lied about taking documents, then he lied about destroying some of them, then he lied about giving all of them back.
So he lied THREE TIMES to the FBI.
I'd bet my eye teeth they find exactly NOTHING criminal.
So then the charges should be forthcoming very shortly. I'm not impressed with any of it. When I see trump in cuffs then we'll have reason to discuss things further.
So if your answer are the way you answered them.... What is the problem with what the FBI did?
They will not indict him until after the November election. Its a Justice Department rule, no indictments of political figures between August and November of election years.
Then what trump did is irrelevant. If the FBI came into my home I'd sure as hell say something about it to somebody.
We do know, but the FBI does not announce when they execute a search warrant in an open case, its because they are careful not to create the appearance of guilt until they have decided to charge someone with a crime.
The only way we know is because Trump told us.
I'd bet my eye teeth they find exactly NOTHING criminal.
They are going to respond, no, first you have to prove that the documents he took were classified, and until you can prove such, you are picking him for political reasons. Any evidence that the documents were classified is worthless because it is tainted and only assembled by an FBI out to get Trump, plus approved by a Judge who hates Trump
How could they not... 18 U.S. Code § 2071
Why did Trump steal 27 boxes of documents from the White House, and why did he hide them all over his shithole hotel?
as has been done with previous POTUS, they could just ask for them back. as you noted, they asked before and got the 15 boxes they wanted.
so why throw a flashy expensive circus (and go sniffing around Meliana's underwear drawer) ?
They will not indict him until after the November election. Its a Justice Department rule, no indictments of political figures between August and November of election years.
It appears that they DIDN'T get everything they wanted voluntarily. And they had enough proof of that to convince a judge to issue a warrant. Trump is a criminal, and he is attempting to cover up his crimes. The GOP is complicit in the coverup. It is what it is. Why can't you just admit the guy is a criminal and move on? Why is it so difficult? I don't get it.
Just the fact that Trump had those documents, is criminal in itself! They were never to have been taken from the WH.
