Trump Winning

Douchebag Donald was a registered Dem from about 1964-1986, and again from 2001-2009. He never voted for Reagan, and gave max contributions to Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale. He also gave yuge contributions to Hillary Clinton and Rahm Emmanuel. He said in 2013 that Hillary had essentially been the best SoS of all-time. He is on record speaking in favor of partial-birth abortion and gun control.

Donald for Hillary 2016.

I can see where, if his plan was to benefit Hillary, he can easily rationalize trying to beat her, now that she's thoroughly embarrassed herself. It's especially easy to rationalize when you're a narcissist to begin with. The question becomes whether he can pull it off.

and yet, he is the only nominee of the Republican Party and not of the Democrat Party.....you remember the Republican Party, right?......you used to be a member.....

I don't think people are taking enough account of third party candidates, remember Ross Perot!!

Ross Perot was, at some points in 1992, the leading candidate. Gary Johnson, at his very best, has been around where Ross Perot was at his lowest. He's not a candidate of the same strength, unless he gains a lot between now and the next few months. But his polls have been pretty much stagnant.

Perot's impact, and I voted for Perot in 92, is over stated. If the POTUS election was based on the popular vote you'd have a point but it's not. It's an electoral vote system based on first past the post (winner take all) in 48 of the 50 States and the two that are proportional (Nebraska and Maine)account for 6 EV's. Though Perot gathered an impressive amount of votes for a third party candidate not in one single State did he impact the candidate who won that State so from an electoral college stand point his impact was minimal and did not impact the eventual outcome. Clinton would have won even had Perot not ran as a third party candidate.

Mott, he didn't win a lot of electoral votes because he won 19% of the vote. If he had won similar vote totals to Clinton and Bush, he would have. Simulate him getting 30% of the vote, add 10 points to Perot, and subtract 5 points from Clinton and Bush each, from his vote total in each state, and see how many states flip over to him. It's a lot. If you simulate a Perot victory, in most cases, he would've gotten a majority of the electoral vote. That's how a winner take all system tends to work, slates of candidates that win 20% of the vote almost never get any victories at all (unless they have a regional base or target certain seats), but around 30% they win massive amounts.

Nebraska and Maine, also, are not proportional. They use a method of winner take all that divides things into congressional districts. If they were proportional, the other candidate would've won half their votes almost every time, rather than all of their votes going to one candidate every single election besides 2008.

He withdrew from the race in July allegedly due to homophobic threats made against his daughter. He re-entered the race in October, and still managed to secure almost nineteen percent of the votes, mostly from the southern, Deep South and Bible Belt states. What would have happened if he hadn't dropped out for several months? What about Ralph Nader in 2000, he got less than 3% but still affected the outcome. Now you have two third party candidates, so how will that play?

The bible belt and deep south were actually some of Perot's worst states. Those states tend to be really bad for any third party candidate that's not a southern factionalist:

He was also leading at one point. Gary Johnson has never been leading or even in second place.

And then in 2016 suddenly racism exploded and all the Republicans stopped caring about anything but keeping the brown people out.

You know, I'm really disappointed in the world. In 1990, it basically seemed as if nationalism, religion, and racism were dead. Now it's all come rearing back its ugly head. The world is being divided into regions ruled by nationalist racists and political religionists. We're going back to the fucking 18th century. We've lost 200 years of progress. And it's all your fault.

LOL, after checking the mailbox for months & not seeing a peace dividend in the mail I began to suspect something was amiss..

While I have heard a few denials lately, it does seem to be edging towards that clash of civilizations ppl were talking about back then..

Trump dug himself a hole with those insane post-convention weeks. with media coverage still the same, I doubt he can crawl out of this one.

Yes, he has for the last few weeks seemed to have bought a clue and cut down on the insane statements. Yet, no one has forgotten how moonbat he was

That's because a year later, the USSR collapsed, and Marxism was dead everywhere in the world except China, Cuba, and North Korea.

You must be racist for talking to our current president like that.
