There aren't many chances people (especially men) have to unabashedly express their feelings, show emotion. While the last decade has shown toxic masculinity to be on the right course to extinction, we're not quite there yet.
Politics is such a volatile topic, it lets people emote in ways they'd otherwise never have a chance to emote. And so, when all logic leaves, we're left with emotion. Like a drug - emotion is created through chemicals in our brain, enchanting / disenchanting us.
And so, when Donald Trump's visual image and vocal imprint pierce through people's heads, logic has no chance to puncture through this stream of emotional consciousness.
I'm baffled as to how tens of millions would be casting their votes for Trump, if they ever get a chance to.
Knowing this makes those who have a say in the matter realize what a monumental deed they must not only do, but also get to fruition. Just think of an incumbent president, practically charged with treason against his own people, imagine him pardoning himself plus all his sycophants, while letting those who opposed him in defense of the Constitution, rot in jail.
What kind of message does it send out to the world? To Americans?
Emotion blinds.
You are driven by the need to have a cause, to have purpose, to have a community, your own sheltering peers, all in the name of those chemicals - coursing through your foggy-foggy brain.
SAD. :-(
