They actually admire Trump's sleazebag immorality, otherwise they would have ditched him nine years ago, or during any of the numerous opportunities since then to bail on him.

I am not so sure about everybody in the REPUBLICAN party being a terrible person.
There are still a few that still hold the Republican ideals , but the MAGA and any other Trump followers don't have any scruples and have lost what the REAL Republican party stood for, and it is a shame how they are destroying a once great party.

Well we know at least some of the Republicans that are in Congress and up for reelection are, they are afraid that Trump will come out against them and start telling all kinds of lies about them and they don't want to piss of their MAGA backers.
The Republican party is NOT the party it use to be and it will take them years to get back to being a respectable party again,and I don't think they will ever get back to being the Party Reagan and people like him had.
It is too bad their party has chosen to let trump destroy it.

I think the Republican party had a choice: Adapt to expanding progressive cultural norms and blended demographics or bunker down for the final battle.
They chose wrong. The particular brand of so-called conservatism that the party now supports is obsolete. It's based on the worst tendencies of human nature. A new, realistic form of American conservatism will cultivate in the youngest generations, but my guess is that the Republican party will not exist in 20 years.
