Trump’s Policies Have Shaken a Once-Solid Economic Outlook

MORON the US auto industry uses A LOT of parts that ARE made out side the USA in "AMERICAN " made cars.
and have for YEARS ASSHOLE.
Some.

TFT and OLED displays come mostly from Japan, which is not under tariff. More of it is being made in the United States.
Electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, etc. are made in the United States and Japan. More of that is also being made in the United States.
Processors are made in a variety of places, including Taiwan (not under tariff), Japan (not under tariff), South Korea (not under tariff), and of course, the United States.

Switches and sensors are made at the automotive factory. Engines are forged and machined in the United States at the automotive factory.
Tires and wheels are made in the United States.
Bodywork, drivetrain, and cold engine sections are made in the United States at the automotive factory that makes the car.
Gasoline is made in the United States.
Epoxies for making sensors is made in the United States.
The connectors are made in the United States.
The wire is made in the United States.
The brake system is made in the United States.

This has been explained to you many, many times. US factories use as inputs the outputs of Canadian and Mexican factories. The supply chain network needs things from both inside, and outside the USA. If you want to make all the supply chain network in the USA, it would take decades.
It's already here, Wally.

Hopefully it is SOON , and NOT after he destroys another industry like he did with the US oil industry during the Saudi / Russian oil price war.
The US oil industry went to him when the Saudis first started the oil price war and asked him to step in and help well he did NOTHING and finally after over 106 US oil drilling / producing companies went BANKRUPT and a lot of them out of business never to return . AFTER that happened Trump FINALLY stepped in and told the Saudis to Cut back on their production and RAISE oil prices or he was going to stop all military aid we give them and they did.
Trump's tariffs with everybody Could drive GM and Ford right out of business, TRUMP needs to wake up and wake up FAST.
This is a disaster of trump's making... And for no reason.

AGAIN you are running your big mouth off an a subject you know NOTHING about.
WALLY is the one that tried to claim a factory is built on the border, Tball. You seem to be losing context.
Body parts are NOT made in an assembly plant ,
They sure are.
they are made ( stamped out ) in a STAMPING PLANT and engines are made in an engine plant.
That's part of the assembly plant, Tball. BOTH are made in the United States.
Again you know NONTHINKING about the subject so why don't you go away and stop making an ASSHOLE of yourself?
YOU are the one trying to claim a US made automobile is subject to tariffs, Tball.

It's already here, Wally.
Why don't YOU do some research and LEARN something about the subject your trying to talk about and come back when you have even a little bit of an idea on the subject,
I worked in a stamping plant for 40 years I know a LOT more about the subject then you will EVER know.
have a nice day

HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stupid I NEVER said US made parts were subject to tariffs.
I said the parts that are imported from other countries , and the US auto industry uses a LOT of imported parts from other countries to make " AMERICAN MADE AUTOS "
And for your info Assembly plants assemble the Autos NOT stamp out body parts, again I worked in a stamping plant and had to go to different assembly plants when they had problems and the closest I have ever seen was a stamping plant that was next door to a assembly plant NEVER in the 40 years I worked in the auto industry have I ever seen an assembly plant make a part.

WALLY is the one that tried to claim a factory is built on the border
No, I did not. I claimed they are on both sides of the border, with one side providing inputs to the other side.

Factories take inputs and produce outputs. Is that good so far? Well, there are factories in the US that take inputs produced in Canada and Mexico. If those inputs are under tariff, then the US factories outputs will cost more.

Cars built here have their parts made here, Tball.
YES AND they also have a LOT of parts made in CANADA AND MEXICO,
YOU don't know what you are talking about YOU have NEVER worked in the auto industry , I did for 40 years.

I was surprised at how many engines are manufactured in the U.S. Ford and Tesla especially.

Surprisingly, the most "American Made" vehicle in the US is the Tesla 3.

Into the night has NO idea what he is talking about as I said I worked at a auto plant for about 40 years, started in production then became an industrial electrician and my wife was a tool and die maker .
And I had to go to different assembly plants to check out problems they were having with the parts we made, most of the time the problem was with how they were putting our parts on the cars and trucks.
It was fun.

After the UAW strikes of the 1970s, the Big Three automated. What was your impression of the transition of auto manufacturing over the past 40 years?

FWIW, Trump's nostalgic plan to "bring manufacturing back to America" will undoubtedly see mostly automated manufacturing. The means educated tech workers to program, monitor and fix the machines. Meanwhile, Trump is making America dumber by getting rid of the DOE.

I started in 1967 and back then is when we started putting in robots and back then they were not as fast or as reliable as a person but they did get them to work and it took off from there, our plant had over 7,000 people working in it back then now there is about 800 if that working there.
So as you said there won't be a lot of people hired or rehired by bringing " jobs " back to the USA.
Yes I am sure there will be some but not as many as Trump thinks there will be.
And just last week they laid off about 100 people because Trumps tariffs are already effecting the industry and sales are falling because the price of cars is going up because of the tariffs.
It doesn't look good for the US auto industry, there will be more lay offs down the line.

I have no doubt that Trump's policies will primarily benefit the rich and the corporations over middle-class Americans.

Well right now GM and Ford get a LOT of parts from Canada and Mexico and Trumps tariffs are going to hurt them bad,
They have already raised the price of cars and trucks and sales have slowed and could get worse, and many more lay offs will result from them .

Stop pretending, Tball.

HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stupid I NEVER said US made parts were subject to tariffs.
Yes you did, Tball. Don't try to deny your own posts. It never works.
I said the parts that are imported from other countries , and the US auto industry uses a LOT of imported parts from other countries to make " AMERICAN MADE AUTOS "
Not really. I mentioned some electronic components, but everything else is made in the United States, if the car is made in the United States.
And for your info Assembly plants assemble the Autos NOT stamp out body parts,
Automotive plants stamp out their own body parts, Tball.
again I worked in a stamping plant
Stop pretending, Tball.
