TX schools will now teach that Civil War was all about slavery!!!

Nope. Attacking Sumter was a bad idea but they had seceded and the Union was still there. Do you think the war wouldn't have happened if Beauregard hadn't attacked Sumter?

America needed an excuse to get into a war with the Confederacy. It was probably inevitable that such a stupid and degenerate society would eventually give us one. They may well have attempted to lay claim to a western territory, as the expansion of slavery was highly important to the south.

1. the 2nd Amendment is not IN the CONSTITUTION.
2. the 2nd Amendment does not GIVE us our right to bear arms, it tells the federal government that it 'shall not be infringed'.
3. The Bill of Rights is NOT the US Constitution.

got that, einstein?

When you amend a contract or legal document, the document remains as it is, amended accordingly. The amendments become part of the binding legal document. So I don't understand what you're trying to say.

that every article, section, and clause of the constitution dictates what branch of the new government it applies to, what the makeup and organization of that branch is comprised of, and what powers are delegated to it. Those 'tenets'.

Right, and the Bill of Rights are amendments to the Constitution. So they become part of the Constitution.

It was the root cause which I clearly stated. But that cause had to do with the expansion of slavery and whether those new states could have slaves was a states' rights issue. I never suggested they wanted states' rights to apply equally to other states, they were primarily interested in their own interests. I simply claimed there were interrelated issues. The war was fought to preserve the union, not end slavery.

Preserve the union by establishing federal authority over the states when it came to slavery.

The founding fathers were huge believers in states rights. Why do you think they wrote the tenth amendment.? Why do you think the constitution says only the states can amend the FEDERAL constitution? THINK

And it was amended to outlaw slavery. Because that's what the war was fought over...slavery.

STFU, shootspeeders, you are such a stupid fuck. The Constitution is constructed to ensure the states are subservient to We the People who control the national government.

As you have read me elsewhere, the southern states tried to make all of the Union endorse slavery and Lincoln murdered the Old South for trying to leave.

I am wrong on a point, and, yes, imagine that, the world will almost stop. :rofl2:

Grant DID own a slave, despite what I said.William Jones Manumission transcribed.jpg

1. Slavery was a central cause of the War, and any who say 'no' can be dismissed outright.

2. Lincoln was able to keep those states in the union despite slavery. He would have done the same for the other slave states as well as long as they (1) recognized federal law in the South; (2) federal property in the South; and (3) did not take their slaves into the Territories.

3. Grant never owned a slave; to say he did is to be wrong. His wife did own slaves.

4. General Scott offered command of the Union armies to Lee, not Lincoln.

5. Slavery was the root cause for the symptoms of sectionalism and states' rights.

Grant owned owned slave..you are a liar

People in the south didn't want the government telling people how to run their farms. Their farm was their own private business they were running.
