Unless you're bleeding or dying....

so you are willing to give up liberty for security. when it comes to national security, the constitution should be ignored?

Nope... didn't say that... The WW provision of the Patriot Act doesn't ignore the Constitution, that is your opinion, and not mine. When it comes to defending the nation against attack, it is inherently impossible to afford civil liberties to the attackers.... it just is. Sorry, wish it could be another way, but it's not. You can either grow the fuck up and join us in the real world, or continue to pretend we live in a fantasy land, where you can act all incredulous about the civil liberties of people determined to destroy America. The choice is yours.

or you can join the '9/11 changed everything' cowards and let the government do whatever it wants.

so much for you claiming to support the constitution.

Where have I ever advocated the government can do whatever it wants? Yes, 9/11 certainly changed everything, if you think otherwise, you are a dangerous person to be articulating a viewpoint on this. I support the Constitution, but what good is a Constitution if we are destroyed by Islamofascist terrorists? I support PROTECTING the Constitution, more than the interpreted bird-brain nonsense you have found in the Constitution.

no, you don't support the constitution. you support the government protecting you over the constitution. plain and simple. did 9/11 rewrite the constitution?
why was the constitution written? who wrote the constitution? what does the constitution create? what does the constitution protect? you can't answer any of these because you don't really know. you'd rather let the gov bend the constitution in to something it's not for it's own security theater purposes in order for you to 'feel' safe, instead of maintaining the government as your servant.

you talk real big about how things are different now, but what you're really trying to hide is your innate belief that the constitution is a living document, much like the liberals do.

you should really rethink your political ideology, because it's not about the constitution.

You can show ZERO evidence that I have ever articulated ANY line of thought remotely similar to the tripe you just accused me of. The fucking Constitution was not written to protect people who are actively trying to destroy the United States of America... SORRY... just wasn't! Maybe in Liberal Fantasyland, that is the case, I don't know... but in the real world, such a concept is so devoid of rationality, as to not be seriously considered.

You (nor your liberal ass buddies) can provide us with ONE single instance of someone having their constitutional rights violated by the Patriot Act... not ONE! Now, it seems to me, if this were such a huge fucking problem, Oprah and Katie, and the rest of the liberal media, would be fawning all over these people, trotting them out on display and exploiting their situation all they could, but we don't see that, do we? NOPE! NADDA... ZILCH... No one!

Let's be clear, all this ever was to you, was an excuse to get up on your soap box and rail against a republican, expressing false outrage over 'rights' that do not exist, and have never existed in our Constitution. You believe this is an opportunity to speak of the founding fathers and proudly state your support for ideas they never expressed, and would have laughed you out of the fucking room over. You want to pretend that I have said all kinds of insane shit that I never said, because that's the only way your argument makes any sense at all. Pull your head out of your ass and understand, no one... NO FUCKING ONE... wants to ignore the Constitution or violate anyone's civil liberties! And that has NOT been done here!

Dixie, you and Damn Yankee are not about the constitution. never were. never will be. you are more about the same establishment GOP big government war on anything, law and order, guilty til proven so, type of anti americans that lost the republicans the house 4 years ago. You have said very clearly that when it comes to national security, the constitution and bill of rights are OUT THE WINDOW. The founders rebelled against a tyrant who felt the same way. you are a fraud, you are a faux tea party jacktivist, and you've now been exposed as such. the same goes for DY and his 'the president has unlimited powers during wartime' mantra.

LOL... Yeah, that's why Socialist countries like China have so much trouble with people trying to get into the country.

China is not a socialist country, it is actually a bit hard to describe today. It is more of an oligarchy with managed, as opposed to free market, capitalism as its economic system.

More evidence that Dixie does not know what Socialism is, he just likes calling President Obama one.

in China the assets and profits of a business are owned by the government, with a "free market" management team that is compensated based on performance in producing what they are licensed by the government to produce.....it may be a more successful socialism, but it is still socialism.....

Mark Twain was a writer who also commented on politics, you fucking idiot. George Carlin was a comedian and the line quoted is from one of his acts.:palm:

Carlin wrote books and commented on politics as well as was considered one of the funniest men walking or dead.

You just dont like Carlin because he was not your political stripe, guess what, Mark Twain wasnt you political stripe either.

All comedians have acts you fool.

Do you really think Twain did not speak in public and use a written script?
