Unvaccinated People Likely to Catch COVID Repeatedly: Open thread

Holy Links dismissed on sight. -- Please form your own arguments.

Pneumonia is a bacteriological infection of the lungs. It is treated with antibiotics, and is much easier to treat the earlier that it is caught and treated.

Jarod bumped a thread from just before the election. The idiot gfm has a few 'this post won't age well' claims there.

I tried to warn him, but he simply wouldn't listen.

Yes, I do... and yes, I turned out to be wrong with regard to those claims. I severely underestimated the election fraud capabilities of Demonkkkrats, and severely underestimated the cahones of Republican legislatures to exercise their constitutional authority to fight back against it.

You and Jarod are beating a dead horse at this point.

Define 'long COVID'.
I've been waiting for a definition for this term for a long time now and have yet to receive a valid definition for it from anyone.

It's currently on my "Lispy Leftist List of Linguistic Lunacy" list as post-covid syndrome ("long covid")

ThatFOWLwoman is mentally retarded.

I stated that her thread and source was a bunch of malarkey. Then she cried.

You are more protected having caught the virus than being vaccinated against it.
:palm:

Lasting immunity found after recovery from COVID-19

After people recover from infection with a virus, the immune system retains a memory of it. Immune cells and proteins that circulate in the body can recognize and kill the pathogen if it’s encountered again, protecting against disease and reducing illness severity.

This long-term immune protection involves several components. Antibodies—proteins that circulate in the blood—recognize foreign substances like viruses and neutralize them. Different types of T cells help recognize and kill pathogens. B cells make new antibodies when the body needs them.

All of these immune-system components have been found in people who recover from SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. But the details of this immune response and how long it lasts after infection have been unclear. Scattered reports of reinfection with SARS-CoV-2 have raised concerns that the immune response to the virus might not be durable.

The COVID fear mongerers (aka maskwearers and maskholes -- see my Cult of the Mask sig for more details) deny the functionality of the innate immune system. They nowadays only recognize certain aspects of the adaptive immune system, most notably antibodies.

Liberals must, as a rule of being a liberal, pretend not to know basic things.

Is that link to your Maskhole manifesto on your faux forum, Sybil?

That's true for the government around these parts, that's for sure. I would suspect the same sort of thing for most other governments around the world.

Yet Australia and New Zealand, even though their governments have been reporting "near zero" cases for most of the time, have been especially enjoying their infliction of all-out tyranny upon their respective citizenry. China has also been reporting "near zero" cases almost the whole time. However, these governments don't NEED the justification for oppressive laws like is needed atm in the States, since the citizenry in the States still tend to value at least a number of their freedoms endowed upon them by their Creator, hence the increased pressure as of lately to condition people of the States to view their freedoms as selfish.

The local news last night mentioned that Dane County has extended their mask mandate yet again (DUH!), and acknowledged that they are the only county in the State doing it and that people are feeling restless about having to keep wearing it, but then they interviewed a cherry-picked nurse who is all for the mandate and claiming that it's helping and that "we" need to keep up the good work (as Dane County case numbers are supposedly amongst the lowest in the State atm and Dane County vaccination rates are the highest in the State, supposedly at around 75%). --- What is funny is how Dane County requires masks indoors yet 80,000 people can pack like sardines into Camp Randall Stadium on a Saturday and don't have to wear masks (and largely DON'T wear masks). Yes, it is an outdoor stadium, but one could be exposed to COVID from being there just as they could from being in a grocery store or a place of business. Hell, these very same people freak out about the Sturgis bike rally being a "superspreader event", yet they don't even bat an eye about packing like sardines into Camp Randall Stadium for a football game.

Obviously, especially since he refuses to address my questions to him about it (and other buzzwords).

I'm giving him every opportunity to list some specific examples of what he is talking about, to educate a dumbass Trump-a-billy such as myself, but he refuses to do so. He supposedly "has the knowledge" (not really), but refuses to educate me when I come to him asking questions, attempting to learn from him.

Obviously he doesn't know what he's talking about and can't teach anyone even if he wanted to... hence the parroting of buzzwords and insults.

You've seen this sort of behavior before. There is a general inability to deal in specifics. Most everything they claim is vague.

Examples:
Complaining about 'pollution' and not being able to name a specific pollution or even define The Problem.
Complaining about the temperature of the Earth, but unable to tell you what the current temperature of the Earth is at the moment.
Complaining about the 'crimes' of Trump, but unable to describe a specific crime.

They do this over and over.

I think a lot of people underestimated this. even within various State legislatures. I think even Trump was a bit surprised by it.

A proper place for it.

I don't think it's pretend. They really don't know basic things...and they refuse to learn.

the amish have it figured out. the longer I've lived and the more i've the more I've come that conclusion.

can I convert?

I just gotta quit the beer, weed and crack rocks.

I just spit my beverage on my keypad.

vaccinated people also likely to catch it again and again

a person that survived covid and a vaccinated individual will largely have asymptomatic symptoms when they do

Not possible. Once you recover from a virus, you are immune to that virus for life.

covid is a generic name for a constantly evolving rino virus. You can only catch delta once - you can catch covid over and over

you can and will continue to catch the mutated strains - it is not only possible - it is seen in the wild constantly
