Unvaccinated People Likely to Catch COVID Repeatedly

I know, right? On the graphic that I posted, above, of the top 20 states ranked by number of pandemic deaths, only six are so-called blue states. It would appear that the (R) way of dealing with it by ignoring it was not particularly a successful one for their citizens.

Lets say Florida falls to "just" a few thousand deaths per month, for a few months, and then rises up to 10,000 deaths per month again... Even the low is very bad.

It's bad, and it is unnecessary as well.

Imagine practicing your "freedom" at the expense of other people's lives. Just more proof that conservatism is a selfish, fuck-you-all political POV.

There are all northern Jewish communities in Florida that have higher vaccination rates, and lower death rates than New York. I doubt Anita is part of those. There are all northern youngish adult communities in Florida that have higher vaccination rates, and lower death rates than New York. I doubt Anita is part of those.

For Florida to be so much worse than New York over the last two months, where Anita is must be even worse than the average for Florida. That is just a mathematical fact.

Hello Hello ThatOwlWoman,

It does. We got our boosters at Meijer pharmacy last week. We were talking about vaccine reluctance with the pharmacy tech. He said they had a large jump in vaccine appts. once the Pfizer was officially authorized. He said that he believed it was because of its prior "experimental" status and once that was removed, they got the vaccine. Overall, for ages 12 through adult, our vax rate is ~60%.

So glad to hear so many people really do value what our government does for us.

Hello ThatOwlWoman,

:hand:

This is the point where one of the deniers will show up and declare that the CDC is a bunch of biased know-nothing scientists parroting the party line, whatever that is.

I don't think Darth is coming back. He simply vanished. I hope he's OK.

It used to be we talked about how we value human lives. Now Repubs are talking about how many deaths are acceptable. Those are human lives, and families with illness and often deaths that could have been prevented. Reds keep talking about success if the numbers of people dying go down for a while. It did not have to be this way.

Hello ThatOwlWoman,

She's in Florida. FL has the sad distinction of being #3 in deaths now, surpassing even NYS. These stats are from Friday (the 29th), from Worldometer.info

gkH82VY.jpg

Florida still has like 380,000 Active Cases.

That's not 'gone.' Anybody who thinks having hundreds of thousands of Active Cases of a deadly virus being actively transmitted out of control in a State is 'gone,' is not using their entire brain. The problem with Florida is they have a Trump wannabe mouthpiece governor who plays up to the deplorable crowd, the pro-virus crowd that is trying to make it worse just to make the Democrats look bad. That's all part of 'owning the liberals.'

And that's the kind of brain-dead thinking that hurts America. That doesn't make America great. How great is a country where half the nation hates the other half? That's dumb.

Pro-America thinking searches for a solution that everyone can accept. Even if they didn't get everything they wanted. You know, like the Democrats are doing right now?

It's like Democracy is still alive in America, it's simply been relegated to the Democratic party only.

Hello Walt,

Lets say Florida falls to "just" a few thousand deaths per month, for a few months, and then rises up to 10,000 deaths per month again... Even the low is very bad.

And their deplorable governor, not a peep about how bad the virus was the whole time it was raging, and then the numbers just start to crack off a bit and he's all jumping up and down saying look at me look how good we're doing.......... blah blah blah.

What a worthless waste of air-space he is. And be careful. Be very careful. That might be our next prez.

It is the most bizarre thing to watch DeSantis literally say he is taking a "victory lap" for such a horrible failure.

But the rubes eat it up and ask for me. They believe that somehow they are "freer" than ppl in other states where masks are worn and ppl got their vaccines. I suppose you could look at death as a form of freedom, in some sick way, eh?

It was clear that inconsistent DeSantis made an about-face on pandemic policy. Early on in the pandemic, (ironically before things got really bad) there were strict limitations and requirements to quarantine upon entry. After just a few short weeks, the policy completely reversed. It was like he pretended the pandemic was all over; and all of the restrictions were completely lifted. Then he began his death wish campaign of preventing local governments and school boards from protecting the public health as the numbers of infected and dead people soared.

The message was clear. If people were tired of the restrictions in their own state, they should go to Florida for a vacation - from pandemic restrictions as well as regular life.

That whole state is a pyramid scheme built on constant tourism. If they didn't have drunk people throwing money around, Florida would have no economy. What other industry is there? Does Florida produce anything of value?

They do have a money maker in their citrus crop, as well as other agriculture. You're right though -- tourism is #1. DeSantis also tried to tell the cruise lines how to run their businesses, and tried to forbid them from requiring vaccines for passengers. If *that* isn't fascism -- the government trying to control private business -- what is?

So all that Republican BS about keeping government out of private business gets tossed out the window as soon as it suits them to do so.

What a phony party.

The Trump party stands for nothing, and they will fall for anything.

They didn't even bother to craft a party platform in 2020. They were fine with whatever #TRE45ON wanted.

Hello ThatOwlWoman,

They didn't even bother to craft a party platform in 2020. They were fine with whatever #TRE45ON wanted.

Their vision for America:

Hatred of:

Fellow American citizens who disagree with them, Democrats, liberals, progressives, colleges, movies, art, immigrants, government, science, reality, fair elections, vaccines, masks, the truth, preventing climate destruction, the media, blacks, minorities, social responsibility, electric cars, facts, etc, etc, etc.

"The risk of COVID-19 reinfection is about 5% at three months, which jumps to 50% after 17 months, the research team found. Reinfection could become increasingly common as immunity wanes and new variants develop, they said.

""We tend to think about immunity as being immune or not immune. Our study cautions that we instead should be more focused on the risk of reinfection through time," Alex Dornburg, senior study author and assistant professor of bioinformatics and genomics at UNC, said in the statement.

""As new variants arise, previous immune responses become less effective at combating the virus," he said. "Those who were naturally infected early in the pandemic are increasingly likely to become reinfected in the near future.""

Yes Im sure they do look at all the unvaxed Bidens letting in the nation and letting them go wherever they want . That is really helping the virus infection rate .
Nothing like thousands of freshly infected illegals to fuel a pandemic .

Great plan you liberals have .

Good morning foul thing , hey have you been swimming in the ocean again ?

Do not lie, you had below the waist covered in water again even after you were told it made to ocean smell like a rotting foul Vagina and caused fish kills.

We were just talking about how fascist the RW has become on another thread. Their only desire, it seems, is for #TRE45ON to be installed as Dictator For Life. Join us if you care to.
