She wasn't "peaceful." But she also wasn't an immediate and violent threat needing the application of deadly force. Byrd was an incompetent police officer promoted to a position well above his level of competence and probably should have been fired for previous incompetent and stupid acts he did.

I don't excuse Babbitt, but I don't exonerate Byrd either.

In a way, Byrd is getting karma catching up with him with this daycare thing that will probably result in felony charges.

though it was mostly peaceful and many were wrongly prosecuted,

I think this was a clean kill, it was foolish to keep pursuing legislators and their guards this far into the capitol, and to try to jump through a barrier when you are being told not to do so by the legal security of the important persons.

How you can sit there, safe in your house bashing a hero. Byrd and his team were incredibly outnumbered. Cries for help from his fellow team members were coming over his comm. Members of congress were calling their families and saying "goodbye".

Had it been you instead of Byrd - you'd have just shit your pants and fainted. You'd go down in life as a coward, but Babbitt would still be alive.

Also, my friend it's not lost on me that if Byrd were not black, you'd be singing a different tune.

So go back to your safe keyboard and let actual heroes do their job.
