Speaking of Byrd’s reaction the sergeant said, “No, his eyes were red. He was, you could see he was visibly upset and he just, you know, kind of comfort him and told him, you know, we gotta get outta here.” The interviewing agent asked the sergeant about Babbitt being shot, “Did you go up to her [?].” He replied, “No, no, no. I maintained my position.”

After the shooting, the sergeant said Byrd directed him and other officers to go down “into the subway.”

Byrd left the scene. Byrd didn't write an incident report afterwards.

There are so many things wrong with this shooting. Again, I'm not excusing Babbitt at all, I'm saying what Byrd did was wrong and he should have paid for his mistake.

Byrd was on the House side of the Capitol and about as far from the Senate as you can get without leaving the building.

You can't. She didn't do anything wrong. She was murdered for the crime of being a Trump supporter who was an American patriot.

That's quite the understatement. The deliberate, cowardly murder of a peaceful, unarmed female protestor deserves whatever penalty is perscribed by the penal code for murder of a peaceful, non-threatening individual.
 
He issued warnings: fact. He had no legal obligation to use less than lethal force. He did not run from the scene.

You are a maga and are struggling right now. Just remember that no one cares, and will get worse for you and your crew.

She was among the rioters. She obviously entered the Capitol on trespass and was engaged with the protesters at that door to the Speaker's hallway in breaking in. Those are crimes. But that said, it doesn't entitle the police to shoot her dead for them.

She wasn't "peaceful." But she also wasn't an immediate and violent threat needing the application of deadly force. Byrd was an incompetent police officer promoted to a position well above his level of competence and probably should have been fired for previous incompetent and stupid acts he did.

I don't excuse Babbitt, but I don't exonerate Byrd either.

In a way, Byrd is getting karma catching up with him with this daycare thing that will probably result in felony charges.
