What else is it? Everyone gets a single vote, no matter who they are. That means the stupid, angry, haters, welfare recipients, and every other sort of moron in the idiocracy gets a vote.
States and Congress regularly get demi-retards in office. Arizona has had its share of shit governors over the years. Two that come to mind are Ev Mecham and Janet Napolitano. Those two were horrific.
So welfare recipients are now “morons?”
Of course they get a vote, your “moron” could be another person’s Einstein, and often the best qualified aren’t elected, but I don’t see a lot of “mob rule” in American history

How many really brilliant people end up on welfare? The smart can get a range of jobs and have knowledge and alternatives available to them to stay out of that position.

Wrongo, anchovies. Both election procedures are outlined in the constitution. The officers are described, given a limited power, and a limited term.

Trump knows he will get bad news in the midterms. So he is looking for ways to control the election. He built an army loyal to him, ICE. He will use it. Hegseth thinks he has soldiers who will scare voters away from the polls. Trump will not sit by and watch the Reds get creamed. Trump is capable of anything. It will get ugly and perhaps violent.
