I said when it comes to innovation the US is easily the best.
However, when it comes to implementation, Finland most certainly has us beat. It is a country of about 5 million people. It is easier for them to implement new technologies on a broad scale than it is for the city of New York. Size matters.

NP, we are dropping from #1 in many areas. We used to be called the breadbasket for the world or somesuch. Now our food/AG imports and exports are pretty much even...
We used to manufacture much of the machinery and such used in the world....
At one time we even produced all the oil we consumed....
