That logic is not stupid.
Actually, these things you mentioned are probably all true as well.
Do you remember getting to draw your own blueprint?

The entire biblical concept of guilt and punishment is probably bullshit.
We simply need to identify what's conforming to minimal societal standards and then practice expedient exclusion of what is not.
It's just another reason why ideologically incompatible social factions should not live under the same government.

It is tho, literally a legally binding contract. Thats my point you dont have to do it via the church to commit to a relationship. I just dont get it. If I was gay I would never seek the popes/church blessing.

When is the last term you ever heard a gay couple say they want their union to be acknowledged by the Catholic church? Certainly no one is this thread has said it. The struggle for marriage equality was never about religion. Believe me: The very last thing in the world most of us want is for a church to ever come anywhere near our relationships. We stay away from them. They need to stay away from us.

There are lots of ways to get married outside of a church. You can go to JP. Atheists get married too. Non-demoninational leaders perform marriages.
