Venezuela: socialism failed the people

Dude, China a command economy? China opened up their markets in the '70's and it's been go time ever since. It's the fastest growing economy in the world. If it was caused by a command economy you can be damn sure socialists would be all over it. They have state sponsored capitalism.
State sponsored capitalism? Mwahahahaha Think about what you just said! LOL LOL LOL State sponsored Capitalism? Congratulations Wacko you just invented a new oxymoron. Now that was funny! ;)

Look I’m being objective here. I’m not taking a side (though if I were my bias is for a Market economy with strong liberal Democratic Civil Institutions.) here to make a point.

My point being there is ample historical evidence of both socialism and capitalism both succeeding and failing and the ideological arguments are silly cause the are at odds with the facts.

The questions you are not asking are under what circumstances and conditions does either succeed or fail?

I appreciate you thinking I'm so smart as to have created that term but alas it has been around for years.

Here’s an excellent article on the question. Their is no doubt that China is a socialist State despite its adoption of market principles The largest companies in China are all owned and controlled by the State and even truly privately owned companies, like Ali Baba, have close ties to the Government and as the article points out that under Ji China is reversing course towards more socialism and not less.

Why is it every time we get the socialism post Venezuela is always dragged out as the poster child?

The majority of European nations have a some form of socialism, some with a higher standard of living than the US, but Venezuela is the one conservatives always pick

How can the government dictating your life be a higher standard of living? Tells me those that think it is admit they aren't capable of doing for themselves and have to let the government do for them.

how many roads have you built without government money? How many Schools and Utilities services have been built without government money? When was the last time our military defended our shores without government money?

Those aren't the things you good little socialists mean when you push for socialism.

Greetings dumbasses. That is not the type of Socialism we dems work with in the first place. It's like you think if it's not capitalism, it's socialism. Some of you morons even think communism is socialism. When you types get enough brain farts together, to make a half way coherent debate, than you can start acting like the crying baby on the airplane. Only real difference I notice is that it's no big deal if we tell you to shut the fuck up, like it would be to shout at the kid. Somehow I still think this would be more effective here though.

Actually, it is. You Democrats are nothing but Communists in pretty colorful packaging. America was founded with Conservative principles like individual liberty, private property rights, natural rights, and so forth. But to the Communist Left, that is all anathema.

I think that most Americans confuse socialism with social democracy. One of first things Tony Blair did when he was elected in 1997 was to remove the notorious Clause 4. This is in essence the heart of true socialism, do you agree?

I've always understood socialism to mean the government owns and controls the means of production. That's not the case in the US and never will be.
