I think everyone should take a step back and reflect on the events that have transpired over the last year or so. I understand the tendency for some to gloat as well as the tendency of some to think they were robbed of justice. At the end of the day, everyone will forget about this and move on with their lives. Martin's family has to deal with life without their son. Zimmerman has to deal with the fact that he killed someone even though as I believe he was defending himself.
What is really sad is that we have all allowed ourselves to be played by the media. Yes all of us. Those who have been against Zimmerman have been clouded by day one by the media, from the edited tapes, to the dishonest pictures they used to portray Martin, to keeping his past quiet. The media wanted to make this about race, and unfortunately we all jumped in with both feet, myself included. That this case fell along political lines is sad. That race was so intertwined when it shouldn't have been is even sadder. That someone like Al Sharpton could be allowed to Tawawna Brawley us again is a friggin shame.
The good news out of all of this is that in a week or so there won't be many more Zimmerman threads.
