Instead, the reflex is to blame “the law,” blame policing, blame the system—anything except the person who chose to do harm. That isn’t leadership. It’s political narrative-building in the middle of a crisis, and it sends the worst possible signal: that rules and authority only matter when Democrats want them to.

You might want to check your facts. The NYTImes did a nice analysis where they took that video and 3 others and synced them to show that the officer was NOT hit by the vehicle.

Then you might want to look at the tree and the pole that the car could have hit as it crashed into the cars and ended up off the street.
