i just watched the video because i wanted to see how big of an idiot ib1 really is....and unfortunately he has proven to be a larger idiot than i thought on this subject....
her first words were about how the judicial system protected her against the rapist, how she appeared in court everyday.....she was talking about the CRIMINAL judicial system....not the civil system which so many on the left are confused about....

Franken's amendment passed the Senate on October 21, 2009 by a voting margin of 68 to 30. The 30 Republicans who opposed the provision were widely pilloried in the press. But they were actually joined in some of their concerns by the Obama administration's Department of Defense, which worried that "enforcement would be problematic, especially in cases where privity of contract does not exist between parties within the supply chain that supports a contract."

No matter what you pull up, you won't find anything saying Obama "opposed the amendment" which is what Vitter said. Vitter was CLEARLY lying to weasel out of a difficult spot. Please, at least admit that much to yourself.

regardless....there was in fact opposition, the WH "claimed" it was merely overstated, so it is factual that the obama admin was opposed to the amendment as it was....
why don't you admit that to yourself....
and while you are at it, you need to watch the video you posted, the rape victim is talking about criminal justice and comparing with that with a no vote by the republicans....are you actually in agreement with this lady that the no votes were a vote against criminal prosecution against the perps?

The opposition wasn't OBAMA's, was it? It was the defense department, which wanted to make sure it was workable since it's the defense department that is going to be constrained by the legislation.
Retard. The guy lied. Vitter lied. Obama did not oppose the amendment. PERIOD. That was a lie.
The woman was asking about (and she said this specifically after he explained that it doesn't prevent criminal prosecutions) how he could support contracting with corporations that refused to let people go to court to get civil damages awarded for RAPE. The guy had no answer. He ran away, and lied about Obama.

YOUR link specifically says they support ONLY the intent, but are working to change the amendment, thus, the WH (obama) clearly said they do not support the amendment as is....
he didn't run away, if this was solely about rape, why include all the other superfluous bullshit that had nothing to do with rape....it is dishonest to say this amendment was all about rape....it wasn't and it wouldn't have helped as it doesn't go into affect until 2010....if you guys were honest about this, you would be screaming about the criminal jurisdiction that let these guys off the hook, instead you're so fucking partisan that you're letting those guys off the hook without a word and instead focusing on some side issue about being able to sue the company, not the men who actually raped her, in court vs. taking them to arbitration....

Obama appoints the people at the DoD. He doesn't administrate the DoD. The White House came out with a statement in opposition to what the DoD said, which tells you that THEY DIDN'T TELL THE DOD TO SAY IT.
