Awesome. It's no wonder only 20 percent of Americans are brave enough to call themselves Republicans anymore.

By the way, the White House said it supported the Franken Amendment, which makes Vitter an unforgivable liar.

Awesome?...Yeah...especially the part where Vitter tells her President Obama was AGAINST the amendment....but the Republican Party should be banned ???
You're a moron...

How dare she AMBUSH a sitting congresscritter...shouldn't she have made an appointment..

Since he was lying about Obama, yeah. AWESOME.

The defense department expressed reservations, but the white house supported it.

A) She's not a member of the press and doesn't get to make appointments with the guy's press secretary. B) He was at a public event, making himself available to the PUBLIC. C) You are retarded.

well, her next step should be to set up a tent in his front yard cause I'm sure she didn't get the answer she wanted to hear..

no wonder the dem party is rapidly sinking....you guys seemed to be doing so well, yet with nutcases like ib1 still claiming that republicans are for rape you really have no excuse...

and obama's admin was against the amendment, that is factual, before making yourself look like a bigger fool, why don't you find out why ib1

where the guy works that you claimed he was ambushed....yeah, the hallway...yeah, that is PUBLIC....that is why the police would not remove them

ib1 = fail

Jamie Leigh Jones claims she was drugged, gang-raped by Halliburton/KBR co-workers in Iraq during the year 2005.

She also claims, she was imprisoned in a shipping container for at least 24 hours without food, water, or a bed.

Then,,,, she was told that if she went against the company’s mandatory arbitration clause and sought treatment and justice outside, she’d lose her job.

Drugged, gang raped and held prisoner ????

All that .....and this little honey is worried about losing her job...????

This hole story smells a little doesn't it...?
Drugged, raped and imprisoned...and she is worried about her job...
give me a break....

But then all this is irrelevant to Funny Frankens amendment which is concerned about government funding companies that require employees to sign arbitration agreements...
Get that ? Its about "government funding"....not about rape, not about rights, but about funding certain companys....

i just watched the video because i wanted to see how big of an idiot ib1 really is....and unfortunately he has proven to be a larger idiot than i thought on this subject....

her first words were about how the judicial system protected her against the rapist, how she appeared in court everyday.....she was talking about the CRIMINAL judicial system....not the civil system which so many on the left are confused about....

the amendment was not about the criminal system folks

It's not factual. The defense department expressed reservations, but the white house (read: the administration, Obama, et al) were in favor of it.

the commies have no problems using children, disabled, minorities or women who have been raped to get what they want..

it's a very sad practice of theirs..and sick

since you seem to like huffpo

Franken's amendment passed the Senate on October 21, 2009 by a voting margin of 68 to 30. The 30 Republicans who opposed the provision were widely pilloried in the press. But they were actually joined in some of their concerns by the Obama administration's Department of Defense, which worried that "enforcement would be problematic, especially in cases where privity of contract does not exist between parties within the supply chain that supports a contract."

Again, retard, like I said, the defense department expressed reservations. The white house supported it.

"A White House spokesman said that the DoD opposition is overstated in the message sent to Congress. "We support the intent of the amendment, and we're working with the conferees to make sure that it is enforceable," said spokesman Tommy Vietor when asked about the DoD statement."

No matter what you pull up, you won't find anything saying Obama "opposed the amendment" which is what Vitter said. Vitter was CLEARLY lying to weasel out of a difficult spot. Please, at least admit that much to yourself.

regardless....there was in fact opposition, the WH "claimed" it was merely overstated, so it is factual that the obama admin was opposed to the amendment as it was....

why don't you admit that to yourself....

and while you are at it, you need to watch the video you posted, the rape victim is talking about criminal justice and comparing with that with a no vote by the republicans....are you actually in agreement with this lady that the no votes were a vote against criminal prosecution against the perps?

The opposition wasn't OBAMA's, was it? It was the defense department, which wanted to make sure it was workable since it's the defense department that is going to be constrained by the legislation.

Retard. The guy lied. Vitter lied. Obama did not oppose the amendment. PERIOD. That was a lie.

The woman was asking about (and she said this specifically after he explained that it doesn't prevent criminal prosecutions) how he could support contracting with corporations that refused to let people go to court to get civil damages awarded for RAPE. The guy had no answer. He ran away, and lied about Obama.

he said obama, then said obama's administration....it was truthful....

obama is in charge of the DOD, if they make a public statement like that are you actually claiming they never talked with anyone in the WH about it....i guess obama isn't the CIC afterall

YOUR link specifically says they support ONLY the intent, but are working to change the amendment, thus, the WH (obama) clearly said they do not support the amendment as is....

he didn't run away, if this was solely about rape, why include all the other superfluous bullshit that had nothing to do with rape....it is dishonest to say this amendment was all about rape....it wasn't and it wouldn't have helped as it doesn't go into affect until 2010....if you guys were honest about this, you would be screaming about the criminal jurisdiction that let these guys off the hook, instead you're so fucking partisan that you're letting those guys off the hook without a word and instead focusing on some side issue about being able to sue the company, not the men who actually raped her, in court vs. taking them to arbitration....

your faux outrage is disgusting, to turn her rape into a political football like this is appalling

OBAMA DID NOT OPPOSE THE AMENDMENT. IT WAS A LIE.

Obama appoints the people at the DoD. He doesn't administrate the DoD. The White House came out with a statement in opposition to what the DoD said, which tells you that THEY DIDN'T TELL THE DOD TO SAY IT.

Lord, you're useless. Ignored.
