WA teen who mistook hiker for bear gets 30 days

Yes, well not as legally respnsible as an adult apparently.

He should have gotten a few years at least.

for an accident? good grief..
so every car accident where a life is lost, the person driving a car should get prison time..?
you are being silly my dear.

then your issue should be with the judge, shouldn't it?

Nope laws that allow underage users of guns.
Or let the parent/guardian take full responsibility for the childs actions. Ie let them spend 8 yrs in prison.

You see I actually support personal responsibility.

If someone drove their car into what they claimed was a bear wearing a brightly colored windbreaker which turned out to be a woman, yeah jail time would be in order.

Yes reckless homicide at best like drunk drivers that kill someone in a werck.

well you lose with this argument, the kid didn't seek out the hiker to accidentally kill them..

try again..

What do you think pointing your gun and pulling the trigger is? If the gun accidentally discharged, it would be another argument entirely. He intentionally shot at her.

this boy got a bench trial and it was the judges determination that the youth had acted with "criminal recklessness because the boy failed to positively identify the target with binoculars before pulling the trigger."

so your issue is still with the judge and not the system. He probably should have gotten more than 30 days, in my opinion, but I didn't get to decide that case. Your issue is with the judge.
