Warm reception... Troops LOVE OBAMA!

I don't have the breakdown of votes from Iraq but I do have some close pre-election polls from the military. I would maintain that what Grind says is mostly true....even for soldiers serving in Iraq.

The "dark skinned" pigmentation I can't answer to. Most of my black friends were like BAC in that they didn't vote for Obama because of his liberalness. But my friends are not representative of society......or the military.

Obama being "liberal" is not why I didn't vote for him. He isn't a liberal.

African-Americans in the military are reflective of African-Americans throughout society and the vast majority of them, about 80-90% are going to vote for the democrat and would not be considered conservative.

About 30% of the military is African-American.

Toss in hispanics and their political propensities alnog with non-conservative whites and it would be difficult at best to prove that most of the military is conservative.

Sorry to imply that you didn't vote for Obama because he was liberal. After reading your response and re-reading my post I can see where one could get that. Again, sorry about that.

My point was this.....Many tend to think that black people voted for Obama because he is black. While that may be true ( I don't think it is entirely) I was stating that many of my black friends didn't vote for Obama like you didn't vote for Obama, my friends not voting for him because he is more liberal than they like. I know that you thought of him as the status quo and that is why you didn't vote for him.

As to the breakdown of the vote all I have looked at is a poll taken shortly before the election. I am a chart/poll breakdown fanatic so to me it makes for interesting study:

Got this email from a sergeant that was there.

“We were pre-screened, asked by officials “Who voted for Obama?”, and then those who raised their hands were shuffled to the front of the receiving line. They even handed out digital cameras and asked them to hold them up.”

Take a look at the picture at AP and notice all the cameras are the same models? Coincidence? I think not.
