John McCain was an American hero.... I have Marine Air Corps pilots in my family and they too think McCain is a hero.. The real deal.

This one is so easy. Mccain could have left after they found out who he was, but he decided to stay with his men and was kept for 5 more years and beaten and tortured,. It takes a real hero to face that when he did not have to.

A hero among the Keeting 5 and in his own mind. Judging by his funeral that he himself planned that went on for 4 or 5 days, there was nobody in attendance that loved John McCain more than John McCain or thought he deserved a hero's funeral. Personally I always saw him as a bleeping blowhard who never saw a bleeping war he didn't love!
