WE ARE AT WAR and moderates could lose this election AGAIN

Althea: "Many got complacent, for the reason you cited. But everyone was warned when the race got closer. The Supreme Court was at stake. Hundreds of Fed judicial appointments were at stake. ACA was at stake. The list goes on."
Jack; In your wildest imagination, could you ever guess Reality Television host Donald Trump (with ZERO governing experience) could become President?
No. But it was a perfect storm. When things are running fairly smoothly, it's easy to be curious about trying something 'different'. Especially when every word from trump's lips was a lie. Every single word. Unless you were from NY, you didn't realize he's a lying crook. I believe that Sanders would have beaten trump, in an election that demanded change. Hillary was generally disliked, and did not represent change.

Althea: "Bernie might have had a seat at the table. I don't see why he wouldn't."
Jack: Hillary seemed to have contempt for him.
Well, there was a lot of ill will in the party. Realistically, Sanders won't even admit to being a Democrat. He should not have run in a Dem primary if he was going to create a rift. Sure...he got a lot of kids interested in politics. He did a piss poor job of bringing them out in November, but he did it on purpose. He was (rightfully) pissed about how things turned out. He's a curmudgeon anyway, so the look fit him perfectly.
Althea: "Bottom line...despite being the most qualified to lead the nation of any candidate in the race, people simply hated Hillary. Almost as much as they hated trump. Truly an odd election cycle."
Jack: Republicans 'hated' her, they thought she was going to win too. (she won the popular vote by 3 million, that tells you something)
Republicans don't factor into this equation. Independents didn't like her. Many voted for trump out of spite. Some demographics took a chance because of his lies about creating jobs and guaranteeing 'much better health insurance at a fraction of the cost'. And the best seller "I'm going to raise taxes on my friends. They're going to be very angry at me"

Althea: "The question remains. Will Democrats and Independents recognize the impending doom if they refuse to back Biden?"
Jack: After 4 years? Even Republicans have had enough.
Many Republicans, but the majority will vote for him no matter what. Indies are the only group that means anything here.

As an aside...do you know where the 'wrap quote tags' button is?

im a she...............thats why we march...............for white america to listen but they still wont.they can do something..........but thry wont.
Marching is widely accepted. BLM has massive white support this time around.

Burning entire cities costs the movement all the good will it otherwise deserves.

Pretty sure the LGBT Community is already behind Biden, so other than being a really, really smart guy, he wasn't going to bring along much of an electorate.
Some have called for Kamala to replace Ginsburg. Not sure how Kamala felt about it.
I'm not advocating for Pete because he's gay. Although Harris' skin color is overwhelmingly a factor in DNC's idiotic logic, so I can see why such a thought entered this discussion. I like Buttigieg for the reason you cited. Extremely intelligent, pensive, capable of complex thought. And young. It's no secret that Biden might not finish his first term.

Do people feel confident with Harris as POTUS? We'll find out. I just view Buttigieg's seeming calm in every scenario as something I want in a POTUS. Not unlike Obama. Harris gets a bit overzealous sometimes. I'm sure she'll be a great VP as the time nears. I like her as a mouthpiece against the moron trump. I don't see Buttigieg as having that ability.

"When they go low, we go high" bullshit doesn't work against this animal.

There are a number of stars that can replace Ginsburg. If not AG, Schiff makes a good SC Justice

smh.....................not complicit........white
Give it up already. If I mouth off to an asshole cop, he's going to search my vehicle/body, and find a reason to make my life miserable. If I comply, I walk. Unlike many black drivers.

One of the big problems with Leftists is that they can't stop purity spiraling. If Biden only adopts 96% of Bernie's platform, they'll say he's just like Trump. That's what AOC is doing now.
Agree. She refused to mention his name during her 90 seconds in the spotlight. Others in her class refused to agree to a Dem healthcare plan because it didn't provide 'free' medical care overnight.

Public Option wasn't good enough. Because they believe Bernie's fudged numbers. The lion's share of his savings came from negotiating prices on meds.

You can do that with any healthcare plan.

1. I'm a 'Sanders supporter'. But I could support Hillary, ... or I can support Biden. Trump is turning the place in a Autocracy.

Althea: "As an aside...do you know where the 'wrap quote tags' button is?"
Jack; It looks like it's over there ---------> on the far right, but I have no idea how to use it.

Jack: You can see the enthusiasm of Black women over the Kamala pick. One of the factors is 'who can the VP bring to the Party'? In this case, it's women of color. Amy Klobuchar made that pretty clear.

I agree with you on Mayor Pete. But ... he would never survive the treatment by Trump and the 'Christians'.

Althea: "There are a number of stars that can replace Ginsburg. If not AG, Schiff makes a good SC Justice"
Jack; Agree. (hope Ginsburg can make it for a few more months)

.
Far right is a multi quote button. That's very handy when you want to quote multiple separate posts, and have them show up in one reply box. Each one is separated into a separate box just like anytime you use the 'Reply with quote button. I'll demonstrate later.

The 'wrap quote tags' button shows up once you are typing a reply to someone once you have hit the 'reply with quote' button. Across the top of the reply box you have several icons. The one all the way on the right is a white square that represents the dialogue box in most cartoons. If you run your cursor over it, it will show 'wrap quote tags around selected text'

It's great for separating out segments of a post that you are responding to. I used it in post 241

Simply highlight the text you wish to wrap in quote tags the way you would 'copy' for C/P. Hold the left click button and drag your cursor across the text.

Once highlighted, just click the white box icon and you have wrapped quote tags around that text. Instead of typing out the text the way you have been.

Otherwise, you would type quote] in front of the text, and /quote] at the end of the text and you get it in a box. I left a bracket off of the quote and /quote or my comment would have shown up in a box.

Choose the text you want to separate, left click and drag your cursor, and then hit the quote tags button.

It looks like this when you're done ^^^^^^

This all might be moot if you are posting from a phone?

I have had those thoughts about Pete and the trump attacks. He strikes me as one who wouldn't ever say 'shit' even if he had a mouthful. Hillary tried that, and failed. I'm not concerned about Christians, as many will still vote for trump. Evangelicals, anyway. It's the Independents that will decide this election.

Either by voting, or by staying home. I do think that Biden gets the 'real' Christians who are fed up with trump, though. Would a gay man hinder that? I would hope not, but safe is better than sorry, and Harris was most certainly 'safe'.

I've chosen a few of your posts to respond to using the multi quote button. Simply use that button instead of the 'reply with quote' button to select the posts you wish to address, and use the 'reply with quote' button only on the last one. You get a post like this one. You can add a reply in between each one.

(shaking head) :) I must be missing a step somewhere. :(
(I'll try again later) Thanks for pointing out the icons!

Why in the fuck would I go to a hick town where your tribe lives. There is not a goddamn thing I want there, including you.

Yes Floyd.s murderer is facing murder charges, but why is that? Because justice was demanded .. and you’re absolutely right, I have no interest whatsoever of addressing you. You have no power to address anything and don’t make for an interesting conversation. As you may have noticed, I’m having lots of interesting conversations without you. Why not just fly away and have the Bubba conversation with Bubba. No interest in what you think about anything, and I told you that before you felt the need to butt in.

You want to riot and pillage cities, go right ahead. Burn em' to the ground. I couldn't care less, it's all on you. You're scared to come here and pull your bullshit. And you should be.
