The USS Liberty was a case of mistaken identity during the six day war in 1966. Israel apologized, and sent compensation money to the families of sailors that were killed in that attack. The USS Liberty itself failed to keep within its assigned patrol area due to messaging delays.

Nonetheless, American Christians incorporate the Old Testament into their religion and believe that they must OBEY Israel and must HATE whoever Israel decides to HATE. For some reason, Christians cling to the Old Testament and embrace the dogma that Israel must be OBEYED to be blessed. In so doing, Christians take a hard line on the Philistines (Palestinians) being "the bad guys" and thus pursue their demise with great pleasure. Arab children dying is a source of great satisfaction, not of great concern.
