What are your thoughts on 2008?

1.)Try inherited a recession, which his tax cuts did much to stave off, especially considering 9/11

2.) Inherited a war on terror, for which we finally employed a proactive approach, which has protected the homeland everyday since 9/11, and we are now in a position to see an entire generation of Muslums grow up away from this radical twist on their religion. That will win the war on terror. It's the only way to win this war...

3.) The destruction of a Major City by hurricane

I mean the way you describe it you'd think the President, our President, has taken more war time powers of any President. If you look at things beyond the perspective of your ideology, you'll see the historical context which is that Bush has taken some of the fewest war time powers of any President, Lincoln suspended Habeas Corpus, FDR ran interment camps, and you got people freaking out today, if we wiretap terrorists...

Hillery Clinton voted and defended her vote to go to war in Iraq as well. Bill Clinton didn't author the balanced budget, however this was a forward looking question...

I love how voting to give Bush "the authority to go to war as a last resort", has now become a vote "to go to war."

Hillery has admitted the surge has succeeded, John Murtha has admitted the surge has succeeded, even though he won't apologize for calling the acquitted Marines murderers. The surge is succeeding, and we will win. Bottom line.

And I can point to a poll that has all 5 top Republican candidates beating Hillery Clinton. Besides I believe it was Obama who came up with the best line for this election, are we as a country really at a place where we elect Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton?

WRL, What does it mean to "win in Iraq" these days, I cant keep up?

I do, but you have to take into consideration Bush has had to deal with more s*it than any Pres since FDR as well.

ROTFLMAO....

He has barely been questioned for the crimes he commited.

Oh please, how can anyone say that was a vote for a last resort... Everyone knew what they were voting for, just look at the quotes from the dims after they voted to invade Iraq. Come on, if those nincompoops were fooled that easily they darn sure don't need to be in control of the executive. If you're fooled by the man you claim to be the biggest idiot in the world, what does that make you?

Larry's right. It was obvious that Bush and Co wanted badly to invade and conquer Iraq. He was practically drooling at the opportunity to do so. This was the pass he needed from congress to start this bloodbath, and they willingly gave it to him.

No way do I give the Democrats a pass on this one.

This is flat wrong, the dims have passed what one spending bill, but launched over 100 investigations. Currently Henry Waxman is supenoeing all former Bush speech writers which has to be the biggest fishing expedition in the history of Congress. It's amazing how far popular perception is from reality anymore. I guess that's what happens when 50% of the country is vested in defeat, and refuses to acknowledge of reality.

I love how they forget that we were ramping up the military there as they took the vote. Only the truly retarded thought that they weren't voting for war.

It was one of the reasons I couldn't fathom people voting for Kerry. He was either so retarded that he was "fooled" by the war ramp up into thinking that he wasn't voting for war, or he was disingenuous and thought the US citizens were so stupid that they'd believe that after the fact desperate attempt to cover his behind.

Thank the little gods for third parties. I didn't have to waste my vote on the retarded, that was our only choice in that election.

Needless to say, even though i'm saying it now, 2008 will be the International Year of the Potato. (http://www.potato2008.org/)

I'm sure you're all taking time out of your busy schedules to mark the date in your own special way. Some of you may even be contemplating electing one President of your fine country, continuing the tradition of electing vegetables to the highest office in the land.

I can only wish you good luck.

A look at my theory...

real clear politics.com polling averages...

Republican Presidential Nomination

American Res. Group 11/09 - 11/12 46% 21% 11% 4% 4% Clinton +25%
Cook/RT Strategies 11/08 - 11/11 39% 22% 12% 4% 3% Clinton +17%

And interesting side note...

President Bush Job Approval
Poll Date Approve Disapprove Spread
RCP Average 33.0% 61.4% -28.4%

Congressional Job Approval
Poll Date Approve Disapprove Spread
RCP Average 22.5% 67.0% -44.5%

So President Bush polls an entire ten points above the dim controlled congress. Food for thought...

Election 2008: Clinton vs. Giuliani & Thompson
Clinton Trails Giuliani

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) enjoying a modest four-point lead of 46% to 42% over Senator Hillary Clinton (D) (see crosstabs). That’s the second time in the last three Rasmussen Reports election polls that Giuliani has held the advantage over Clinton.

I do, but you have to take into consideration Bush has had to deal with more s*it than any Pres since FDR as well.

Always with the excuses. You are what is wrong with the Republican party. You empower these idiots to spend because when they do you just toss out excuses for them.

Ohhhh Puleeeese,

If things were going well in Iraq, you would be claiming that Bush led us to Iraq, with the Democrats kicking and screaming. You would be claiming that Bush led us into Iraq dispite the attempts by the Democrats to stop it!

The Democrats have only had the power to do anything for less than a year! The Repubnlicans stonewalled ANY ATTEMPT TO INVESTIGATE ANYTHING!

100 investigations

1 of 12 spending bills

100,000 Defense department civilians laid off

etc. etc. etc.

one year.

"Let every nation know... we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty."

I love this quote from JFK, and I agree with it... but my only wish is that the current President understood what actions work to further the survival and success of liberty and which actions do not!
