What are your thoughts on 2008?

That was during the holiday and was done to prevent Bush from making recess appointments. Typically, the Senate would be in recess during that period and would not be in session at all.

Ya they can do this but can not pass a spending bill, cannot fund our troops in harms way, cannot even protect millions from a tax hike.

And the 110th Congress convened in Washington on Jan. 4, 2007, meaning the Republicans were in the majority in 2006, and a whole 3 days of 07, twit...

If they really had no money, they couldn't bring them home.

I am not worried that there is ANY chance of that happening.

I agree Bush has the American people over a barrel. But I think the way to deal with it is by playing hardball.

Or feed them, give them bullets, run communications, house them, pay them, a royal pig f*ck to our troops in a combat zone, to make a political point.

You truly are a dumbass.

1) Keeping the Senate in session to prevent recess appointments involves having one Senator show up. That's it.

2) The federal government fiscal year runs from October through September. As a result, FY07 began in October of 2006 while the Republicans remained in the majority. The FY07 spending bills were not passed until February. Call me in two months. Then your outrage will at least be timely.

It's pretty sad people would even consider cutting off funds with our troops on the battlefield...

Man I let you dims get me to worked up,

1.) tacky

2.) The dims are planing a marathon 11 spending bills rolled into one by the end of the year, with an entire year to see to actual business, not playing politics.

I hope Bush does not cause this to happen!

I cant believe Bush would veto funding for troops he put in harms way!

Well I guess I can belive it, it is BUSH.

Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with the term "omnibus." An omnibus appropriations bill is pretty standard fare. In fact, the Republicans passed several omnibus appropriations bills while in the majority. Funny that I didn;t see you complaining then.

That's the problem with the dim controlled congress, not matter how many times they fall back on their asses, the still try and run through that brick wall. The President can set parameters for the budget, Congress hashes out the details. But congress refuses to accept reality and passing non-starters, while real people will suffer.
