What Critical Race Theory Teaches

Humanity as a whole had to evolve out if its stage of being garbage as a species.
We're even now not at equal levels of being involved.

By the 1600s, however, the Renaissance had occurred and the species was supposed to have reached a new level of being civilized.
It was as it is now and was always, however. We were not all at the same level of evolution.

In Western Culture, it finally down to just us and Brazil being the models of douchebaggery. No slavery anywhere else in Western Civilization.

Well guess what?

Brazil has National Healthcare.

What's the biggest douchebag nation in the developed West now?

Hint: the initials are USA.
Believe me, you don’t want to live in Brazil. Our next door neighbor lady is from there and her stories from there are not good.
My wife is German and has no desire to go back to living there , talking to her family regularly. So yes we are a douchebag country but would you really prefer living in another place?

I mentioned this in another post that you hate to think of education as a zero sum game because it's not. But the reality is kids are only in the classroom for so many hours; thus we have to prioritize what we teach and how deep into the weeds can we get on various topics. That's where I was coming from here.

I said the same.. As the kids mature they have electives, they can decide but they need the options..

Every time I've lived briefly in another place [with one hideous exception in my youth],
I was on holiday having a smashing time and not worrying too much about how the locals were getting on.

Maybe I'd prefer living in Scandinavia if I were welcome to do that--I'm obviously not--
but I certainly couldn't say for sure. It gets even colder than Boston come January.

But this is the reality: if the US is indeed the best place on Earth to live,
then Earth doesn't have a good place to live. That would be the hard fact.

Don't get me wrong. There are things that I LOVE about America.
It's got seriously great attributes. Many of it's inhabitants, in large part, are not one of them.

To each their own. I have maybe two or three old friends from my youth still living in New Orleans, a third world urban shithole IMO and most all the others that escaped from there. But they love it.
There’s pluses and minuses everywhere. It’s why we live in Hawaii three months of winter.
But I do agree we have a huge spectrum of inhabitants, many of whom are undesirable. Diversity does have it’s negatives.

Of course if he, his family etc have actually been victimized then???

... then what is his recourse?

1. 'Reparations'?
2. Hatred towards his perceived Oppressors.

When asked if Phantasmal will trade Homes with TTQ, her house with a swimming pool in Houston for TTQ's house in Compton with a chain link fence, Phantasmal replied with a 'Fuck That!'. Phantasmal claims that by stirring Racial Hatred she has 'done her part'.

It was, & not for very long either, especially if you minus the wars/occupations.. It was a cluster fuck forever & after Tito it was inevitable IMHO.. They never asked or voted to put it together & they one by one left it @ first chance.. So did Czechoslovakia, Spain still has several regions looking to bail out & have voted accordingly..

Here is a nice map of Europe since about 1,600 BC, only thing that remained the same WAS CHANGE..

One Group warring with another Group. War, misery, destitution, misery.

After the World Wars, the consensus was that 'Wars' were bad. The European Union was created by France, Germany, and the 3 Benelux Countries to prevent further Warfare. The 'economic union' between France and Germany was intended to make warfare between the two counterproductive.

This 'cooperation and interdependence' seems like a good idea. The Concept of Brotherhood will eliminate Warfare. 'Dia de La Raza' here in the New*World is a solid idea.
There are some who promote Warfare through 'Hatred'. I'm sure there is a Benefit to the Winner.

That is hardly the story since importation of ppl from Africa for the slave trade was banned 1808.. So after that those born here-enslaved here were not the results of some far off "war"..

It IS the Story.
Slavery has been with us since before the Bible (see Code of Hammurabi).
The Victors, the Strong, The Winners, enslaving the Losers, the Weak, the Losers.

"Most slaves were people captured in times of war. As the Roman Empire expanded, they often captured slaves from new lands they conquered. Other slaves were bought from slave traders and pirates who captured people from foreign lands and brought them to Rome. Children of slaves also became slaves. Sometimes criminals were sold into slavery. A few people even sold themselves into slavery in order to pay their debts. "

So there is nothing new here ... EXCEPT THE NARRATIVE.
The Narrative DOESN'T mention that Africans (the Victors) enslaved other Africans (the Losers) and sold these enslaved peoples to Others. 'OTHERS' could be other Africans, Arabs, to the Caribbean, Brazil or the US.
The Narrative is Racial. 'White People' did it.

Rather than view 'Slavery' in it's true historical context, 'Slavery' is viewed here through a narrow 'Racial' divide. It's been separated from the historic 'Victor enslaves Loser', to the 'White People Hate Black People So Make Them Slaves' Narrative.

Creating Racial Hatred shouldn't be an American Goal. (I can see how Russia and China would promote it though)

CRT TEACHES THAT ALL WHITE PEOPLE ARE INHERENTLY "RACIST" BECAUSE THEY'RE WHITE, AND THAT ALL BLACK PEOPLE ARE INHERENTLY VICTIMS, BECAUSE THEY ARE BLACK...THAT AMERICA IS AN "EVIL PLACE", BASED ON RACISM....

IOW:UTTER FUCKING BULLSHIT.

A million Americans live in Mexico. They are all over the world. So yes, lots of people would rather live elsewhere. https://www.aetnainternational.com/...here-are-Americans-emigrating-to-and-why.html

You mean black codes that no longer exist but were part of the systemic racism that used to exist in America but no longer does. That's what should be taught.

Yes.

We can't learn from the mistakes of the past unless we continue to teach each new generation about the mistakes of the past.

No problem with that. The problem is teaching that America is presently a "systemically" racist country. Its utter bullshit.

No. Like Cawacko has said, there is a Priority of what is taught. You can pick what you think is important, and teach that to children.

So you don't believe it's important to teach children about how, 150 years ago, the ruling class created laws to keep a group of the population enslaved?

No, it does NOT.

That is merely another bullshit GOP talking point created to rile up their base.

And it's clear you guzzled the kool-aid right down and asked for another.

Racism.

Built into the system and created by the GOVERNMENT.

Even after Obama signed the Fair Sentencing Act of 2010, the federal law still imposes a different and harsher sentence for crack cocaine possession than it does for powder cocaine possession, but the disparity is not nearly as great as under the 1986 Act.

I think it would be important in the Context of Slavery as a Historical Reality.
Understanding the Slave Revolt in Rome. The Crucifixion of 6,000 Slaves on the Road to Rome as an Example to other Slaves. The Number of Slaves versus the Number of Citizens in Rome.
What the Code of Hammurabi said about treatment of Slaves.

At what age can you grasp the Concept that 'Slavery' wasn't based on 'White Supremacy' ... that it was based on 'Victors' enslaving 'Losers' in some Battle. (the current 'Narrative' leaves out any mention of Africans enslaving other Africans after some Battle).

No, it does NOT.

The problem with your response is that there are black democrats that make a similar argument. Knowledge of history, both good and bad, is a good thing. This is a left-wing ideological (and to a certain degree a religious) movement and the over arching principle is the oppression of whiteness.

Sounds crack cocaine was the target not blacks.
