Ads are generated by your Google profile. The less that's in that, the more they rely on context from your web history. So if the only thing in your Google profile is porn (me, for this very reason), then you'll mostly get dating ads and such.
I think the ads you see reflect your web surfing habits. That's how internet advertisers identify and target their customers.
I get a lot of ads for men's shirts and clothes. I admit, I buy a lot of nice threads!

If anyone has Firefox as your browser, and used an ad blocker, it may have been disabled, because of issues they had. I started getting ads from a place that makes giant fortune cookies, when I realized it. Damn dietary issues, make that food porn.

Yeah, Firefox and Adblock got into a big fight and now Adblock's only working sporadically. I wonder why I keep seeing ads for beads, beads, and more beads. And solar lights. lol

I found them selling a box of fortune cookies online, in a bulk box, and thought that would be a treat I could stretch out for a month, or two. It was on Amazon, but I checked ebay, and another place. I got off quick, because I no longer wanted the box, I wanted one of those giant fortune cookies. I gave up on it because it is so expensive. Then I came here, and kept getting a 10 percent off ad to the fortune cookie site.

I have looked at Costa Rica as a possible retirement place, but never Asian dating sites. But immediately after I go in a thread wherein Tom has posted, I get Asian dating sites. That makes no sense.

Yeah, because that's probably the context of what TOM is talking about in those threads, something to do with Asia and/or women.

Where is Costa Rico? I'm looking at Costa Rica. Doesn't mean I'll actually move there. Just considering options. And I have years to go until retirement. Maybe I just want a life change.
My brother is still on the big island and hasn't pulled the Maui trigger yet... I am under no pressure, just thinking of a new life.

They also have an insect that will lay it's egg in your skin, and it destroys the flesh around it, as it grow into a larvae. After seeing that, you won't get me near that country, even on an all expenses paid vacation.

Costa Rico is between Nicaragua and Panama in Central America
