WOW!!!
That must have simplified everything!![]()
Ironically, it's almost like sex change surgery. Basically, Ariel is transgender.... or even worse, transpecies.

She is turned into a human. Magic and stuff![]()
That's one thing the story and movie have in common. But not much else.
I've got to see the original animated film.
I've always wondered how mermaid-human relationships work.
Especially, the actual physical enjoinment part.
Does the movie show how it's done?[/Do watch the animated version... it's fun... but it may not fulfill all your wishes and hopes...lol.. (a lovely ending though... which they changed in this new version...) so much Disney deserves to be watched over and over... does your Avatar like to watch TV? Our crew loves 101 Dalmatians and Lady and the Tramp... but they love any Disney or Scooby-Doo it's hilarious... and they love Buckeye football...![]()

Why are you so afraid of sharing what makes you so "uncomfortable" about the remake?
Ive never been a Disney nut, I really dislike the parks. The movies are generally very well made.
There is a great book called, Disney Ate my Daughter.
It’s already happenedIt would have never even occurred to me to ask this question until I saw the trajectory of this thread,
But can I get a show of hands of those who would get enraged if a future reboot of Peter Pan has a brown fairy Tinkerbell?

Pat Robertson would have called both movies out for glorifying witchcraft.
It is actually a great example of how Conservatives actually evolve, just more slowly than others. The Religious Conservatives were likely to be upset about any movies with magic just a few years ago... See Harry Potter, but now they accept the magic in the old Little Mermaid but are only upset that a black actor was hired.
We are making slow progress. Its ironic that Robertson died in the middle of this discussion. The old more conservative group are finally dying out.
The press alone has been profitable for Disney… and it renewed interest in the older mermaid movie, Disney ain’t losing money.
Without the Rumppers crying less people would have seen it.
Pffffththththththt!!!!!!
You keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better...![]()
Who woulda thunk anyone would get enraged by the color of mythical fairies and mermaids?
So both movies glorify witchcraft? Black magic? Devil worship?
Yes but like an entitled brat and idiot you do not just say 'hey i don't like strawberry icecream/movies and won't buy it', which is fine, and instead you go into Karen type posts full of tears and complaints about how wrong it is that any company would make strawberry icecream/movies based on the demand of any minority group buyers.
You are the type of guy, who if you live in a community that is heavily made up of one ethnicity (example Italians) and thus most of the restaurants are all Italian, and one entrepreneur decides he will open another type of restaurant to instead try and get the minority of buyers who want something else, you then cry UNFAIR, saying you only like Italian and thus every restaurant in the area should serve Italian only.
It is just stupid and entitled.
Oh, indeed they do. They villain of the movie is a witch who practices black magic. But the witch is white. With an Octopus body, but still white.

At the end of the movie, King Triton, Ariels father, realizes that she wants to be human, so he changes her to a human, she marries the Prince, and the Mermaids and humans come together to celebrate. The Mermaid King and the human queen agree that this can signify a new relationship between them.
Just horrible. Basically, the same as the original, but the mermaids are a diverse bunch rather than white. This comes from someone who actually saw the movie.
I guess they are embarrassed by being "uncomfortable" about it.
Why would anyone hate an amusement park![]()
