what is wrong with the reopening?

Why do you claim that ' it seems its not significantly increasing the infection' ? Is this a hopeful supposition ?

every country in the world chose a different path in response to the virus........yet the pattern of infection and recovery is virtually the same for all......

It sucks. My sister has been waiting for a catarac op for almost 2 months, she can't drive -
even to her medical destinations - so has to to be driven her everywhere...and this is ELECTIVE surgery?

Yup.

It’s not as black and white ‘if it’s not an emergency it’s elective’ but it’s pretty close. But that’s another story lol. An emergency is defined as life threatening, limb threatening, acute sepsis, gangrenous gallbladder or etc.

The *immediate* risk to life or limb is the key concept.

Another consideration is the potential for ICU beds: surgeries or procedures that *could* entail the need for an ICU bed are shut down. That includes anything related to heart catheterization or coronary stent placements in cath labs. Doesn’t happen often, but there’s the risk a heart vessel can be perforated and that means a [quick lol] trip to the OR followed by days of critical care management.

So, we have people walking around needing heart catheters and stents who are not getting them. Pretty nifty, huh?

I don’t know whose idea it was to shutdown elective surgeries but I’m confident it will be judged as a ‘very bad idea’ at some point in the future. The only thing I can do is enjoy the time off while the government pays me to not to work.

Past tense..."I worked."

Nothing wrong with construction work, Trumper.

Not exactly aspirational but steady.

My Vandy professor once said that he was going to work in construction in the summer to see how the little people lived...a real snob.

Earl, what do you do for a living????

I broke my hand skateboarding. I'm not going to do anything because it's my wrist and I still have function and I don't
want to deal with a hospital.

Are you getting your checks? Pipe down and enjoy your charity.

If the hospital was going to pay me they’d want me there lol.

But I’m good. You don’t need to know how or why. I would enjoy it more if we could get rid of this fricking cold air.p

Lets talk about reopening the economy for a bit.

Take Texas for example. They say that retailers can open but only for pick up products. Similar to how food operates right now. They of course have been labeled as murderers who care about the economy more than human life. Now since your already taking that risk for food and it seems its not significantly increasing the infection what is wrong with their order?

Go ahead and post the link that validates the claim of “murderers”.

Man. they are desperately working to make it the Trump virus.

Pelsoi has been accusing Trump of blood on his hands and stuff, She's on Chris Wallace (Fox) today.
I plan on working and not watching

6-7 weeks of lies, denial and sitting on his thumbs gives him ownership.

Remember, he said his authority was “total”.

Where does she need to go so often?

How are those models holding up lol?

I don't know. Clearly you have your nose pressed up against one or more of them. Go ahead and explain
in detail how this or that model with this or that suppositions about human behavior is a vast conspiracy to weaponize
a illness to attack Trump, and I will simply continue to listen to experts and take advice of well intentioned
policy makers, a category which excludes the vile cheating, billionaire narcissist buffoon and his kids.

The Ownership Class is demanding the Worker Drones get back into 'Production Mode'.
(Do you have any idea what this is doing to Profits???)

Clearly, you have never taken the risk to invest your savings in, create jobs and own and run a business. :palm:

If people don't have profit, they can't pay your dam taxes.
