Back in the day-- the 70's I used to listen to one of these "border blaster" stations in Arizona, X Rock 80 out of El Paso. It was AM and once the sun set you could pick it up clearly all the way into Arizona. They played all the good hits and had few commercials. That's where this song's idea originated from, those border blaster stations (there were others too).
