I would propose instead of the above that we create the donut hole. Keep the max where it is at (adjusted for inflation) and then restart a 2% SS tax on earnings over $500k.
 
I love when lefties say "just lift the cap" on payroll taxes. Well, the cap has been lifting every year. In 2000 it was $72,000 and today it is $116,000.

Are lefties really this ignorant that they don't know that the cap has been lifting?

Now, they will say "Yeah, but I mean tax all income". Yeah, I know what you meant.

The reason it won't happen is because once you do that, you officially turn SS into a welfare program and right now you benefit from people thinking that they "pay into the system"

What would be done with that 2% tax? Would it go to those who pay it at retirement?

Are you serious? You know DH is not the guru, we don't all repost his comments hoping no one will notice we changed the names. I am against means testing and not because DH told me to be. Desh can be for it. We do not all walk in lockstep saluting like you guys do with Superfreak! With you little fucking "S" hats!

To be clear Dh is probably the smartest poster here, but the above still stands.

Because she knows that debt empowers the central government. The more debt there is, the more the central government weighs power.

Alexander Hamilton knew this and supported national debt and her as a lefty knows it also. She says it's bullshit and denies it exists because she knows only free unrestricted markets and less governmental meddling will solve the debt which she doesn't want solved and wants instead to grow.

A nation in debt is a nation which relies on governmental dependence and central control becomes larger and more powerful as that dependence grows.

Well,,, the funnest time for me was the 1970's.

Plenty of sex, drugs, and rocknroll. The government wasn't nearly as big, and I had a lot more freedom then today. The jails weren't full from social conservitives, and I had money that the democratic socialists hadn't made so many laws to take it away yet.

Yes,,, it's like night and day. Todays America is what you would think East Germany was like. Back then People minded their own business.

1980's great President, great economy, great military, great music, movies, graduated 1984, met my wife 1988 DJ'd from 86 to early 90's
