DeSantis' official Twitter account has recently shared photos of him that were apparently taken several days earlier without noting the fact. On Tuesday, DeSantis' account posted a photo that had been taken 12 days earlier—a fact later confirmed to MSNBC by the governor's office.

On Thursday, DeSantis' Twitter account shared a photo of him at Bagelicious Deli & Bakery in Ocala, Florida. Grant Stern, executive director of Occupy Democrats, pointed to a December 17 Facebook post from Bagelicious Deli & Bakery featuring that same photo.

Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried, a Democrat, told MSNBC's Tiffany Cross on Wednesday that she hadn't seen DeSantis since December 17 and that he had canceled a cabinet meeting in mid-December.

"I haven't seen him since December 17 so I don't know where he is," Fried said. "But [to be] quite honest, even if he was here, he wouldn't be doing anything anyhow, and we know that. So once again the people of our state are gonna have to step up and beat this [...] without him."

I've noticed that our two most fervent Ron-suckers, Sister Stench and Minty, are likewise missing. We heard just last week that Florida had hardly any new cases, from Minty. lol

I’m sorry his wife has cancer, and IF he’s with her during treatment I’m glad he’s doing the right thing, but if his family needs him and that means he can’t do his job, he should resign.

When my wife had cancer I referred out a lot of my work and refused to take new work.

He has a sick wife and young children and enough money to take time off, he should… but Florida needs a full time Governor as we face this crisis that he has made worse!

He should resign and take care of his family! That’s what a real man would do.

While cancer treatments are serious and any good spouse would stay with their beloved, the story sounds bogus.

Why hide going to the hospital for routine treatments?

Sure, modern media tries to blow things out of proportion, but after cutting through the spin of Fox or MSNBC, there's still a kernel of truth in their stories. In this cases, the fact that DeSantis was laying low for some reason .
