Because of the superficial talking points you used.

You used those points to cast yourself as a "both sider" so you can continue spewing forth Conservative rhetoric and talking points.

It's by design; you're hoping that the talking points will give you enough "cred" to advance your previous positions under a new, more credible persona.

The problem is that you've already used that tactic twice in the last ten years; first, when you stapled teabags to your face, and then again when you took the teabags off and put a red hat on.
