While Shooter Took Out Fourth Graders, Cops Huddled in Safety

The cops are cowards. Their guilt is going to be there demise and they'll end up taking themselves out. I'd like to be there for that. Because that would be justice.

The Police are Not Required to Protect You

In the 1989 landmark case of DeShaney v. Winnebago County Department of Social Services, the U.S. Supreme Court held that the failure by government workers to protect someone (even 4-year-old Joshua DeShaney) from physical violence or harm from another person (his father) did not breach any substantive constitutional duty

Nevertheless, the Court found that the government had no affirmative duty to protect any person, even a child, from harm by another person.

The “no duty to protect” rule remains unwavering and the law today.

Therefore it is your own responsibility to protect yourself. ;)

I can handle that. You know, though..back in the day police were the good guys and they dealt with a lot of shit and some got killed doing it; But they almost always did the right thing.

It doesn't appear to be that way anymore.

The days of Kojak are apparently gone. :(

So is the police protection that cops of that day provided.

I chalk it up to shit leftist-indoctrination schools turning out shit people.

The shooters and the cops alike. They are all coming from the leftist indoctrination camps. Lord help us all.

"We can't go in until the bomb squad gets there", the policeman in apparent charge shouted to a group of officers outside the school. Inside the school, gun shots could be heard. A woman standing nearby screamed at the police, "Go in there". They waited. The shooter spent his leisurely hour dispatching one child after another along with their teachers until class was over for forever.

Earlier, a security guard posted at the school for exactly the protection needed that day was the first person the shooter eliminated.

So, what is the solution to mass shootings at schools. "More police," says Ted Cruz and the chorus

What should have happened dipshit?

Do you still jerk to pictures of the Twin Towers falling marty?

So u POS Libs want cops to rush into the school with guns blazing

But dont want to place a bad ass x military guy in school full time with a gun... or train a teacher or two and arm them in the school

Nobody has said "with guns blazing" although it still might have saved some of those children's lives if one of them had...done anything at all.

Maybe someone should have told the cops a Liberal teacher was teaching CRT, gender identity or reading a book about a trans child then they would have rushed in to save the children from the trauma.

Imagine that an unarmed mother was braver than cops who had weapons and "training".

I know. I love all these MAGA fucks like Matt and Volsrock attacking me for saying so. Why? They know that if they were in the same situation they'd just shit their pants and faint. Matt and Volsrock are such pussies.

The Parkland Cops ran away. The Buffalo Cop was killed instantly. The 3 Cops at Uvalde were overpowered, then waited 40 min to enter the school.

Veteran Cops repeatedly failed—but we’re supposed to expect Lunch Lady Doris & School Nurse Betty to stop a terrorist with an AR-15

The obvious first impulse is to go right away, but any well armed, intelligent shooter will setup kill zones to kill anyone going in right away. And asking police(or anyone else) to face a very high chance of death is difficult. Moving in slowly, in an organized way, provides a far better chance the police will survive, but there will be children killed while they wait.

Would armed teachers be any better? They would have the same problems, they might be misidentified as the shooter, and they might be the shooter. I would like to say school employees would never start shooting in a classroom, but the reality is they do from time to time.

One thing we should remember is that schools are still the safest places in America. They are safer than homes, offices, streets, malls, etc. Making them more like the rest will not make them safer.

Not only huddled in safety, but was waiting on a fuckin key to get into the school, while babies were screaming for their lives. I only wish Brianna Taylor had these cowards in Ky. when they burst into her apartment and put 12 bullets into her body...with the NO KNOCK SHIT WARRENT. I'm not hating on these law officers, they were afraid to die. And they do what most humans do, run for cover...UNLESS YOUR AN UNARMED BLACK MAN OR WOMEN, THEN IF THEY BECOME AFRAID, THEY CHOKE YOU DEATH, PUT A BULLET TO YOUR HEAD, A KNEE ON YOU NECK. I hope the screams of those cowards haunt them to the grave!!!

Also, Repubs want to blame this on mental illness but then arm teachers as if teachers never have bad days or mental health issues/moments. Why is putting guns anywhere near children thus increasing the chances of guns being used their answer to everything?

It is strange that Republicans talk about locking up people with any mental problems, but also pass laws to keep people with mental problems from losing their guns.

and yet the rest of the accounts indicate that he shot two officers, killed the students, then barricaded himself in a classroom.....there is no evidence that anyone was killed from that point until the police entered and there was a shootout which ended with the shooter's death....

so despite the claims of this thread, no students died while the police set up their entry......

There were were 19 students shot between the time the police broke off pursuit of him at the school doors, and when they finally engaged him again. Had they continued to actively pursue him, that would have made it more difficult to kill those students. It would have also made it more easy for him to kill police. He could have setup a kill zone and killed police as they advanced.

Whenever taking out a defensive position, it is good for the attacker to take time, and plan it out. So from the police officers' point of view, it was safer to regroup, and work things out. But that time was used by the shooter to kill students. The more heroic thing to do would be to attack, take police casualties, but save as many children's lives as possible.

That being said, I never feel quite comfortable demanding extraordinary heroics out of others.

prosecute professionals who fail to place people on the do not sell list who are a danger to themselves or others.

cops knew about this kid

school councilors knew about this kid

plenty of people looked the other way...

Texas has gotten rid of its do not sell list, so there was no way to put him on such a list. He had no criminal or mental health record, so there was no legal way to deny him gun purchases in Texas. Even if he did have both, it is often difficult to deny gun purchases in Texas.

He had dropped out of school, so no school councilor. Even if there were, it is no longer legal for school councilors in Texas to ask about guns.

The failure is with the Republicans in the Texas State Government.

The lack of motivation to do what is right is what is highlighted here.

I'd gladly give my life if all them kids wouldn't be killed.

Yet they are, and I suspect the reason is cowardice.

That's because you're a pussy.

I bet the cops that were there are millenials. Churned out in the pussy-ass inducing leftist indoctrination school system that's been ongoing for 20+ years or so.

They were made to be pussies. I ain't claiming to be no Superman, but those dudes failed at their jobs. Why should people pay for those motherfuckers salaries again?

Back in my day, cops were the real deal. They might even let you go if you weren't bad. It's not like that anymore.

The cops now hammer minor violators and run from real shit. That's fucked up; Yet that's how it is.

I ain't calling the cops for shit. No reason I can think of to do so.

But I bet if I did, they'd be here in force before 40 minutes were up.
