White House denies manufacturer's boast that First Lady carried their $5,950 bag

Why did the administration think it important enough to deny? I've never heard of this purse, and never would have, until they denied it.

This is one of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't" moments for the Obamas.

They spoke up and denied having the bag, and we see how the sharks have responded to that.

If they had remained silent, then those self same sharks would be screaming about how silence from the Obamas is an admission of guilt.

no words to this one...one friggen bag cost, $6000...Palins whole wardrobe added up to $144,000...
I think it would be different if it were purchased by the campaign. Palin's clothes weren't hers, they were bought by the campaign. I can see a difference here.

Did the First Lady buy this herself? If so this is a worthless conversation that never would have happened if the White House didn't issue a denial on it.

My wonder is reserved for why they felt it so important that they had to issue an official denial.

Please. I would never have heard of this stupid purse without the denial. Some idiot claims she was wearing their bag, nobody but idiots rich enough to buy a $6000 purse would care at all even as a advertisement, they find it important enough to their everyman image to issue an official denial, this now becomes news.

Gawd, the American news cycle sucks.

It's probably tied into the stimulus/re-election conspiracy, somehow.

The truth will out...

I laugh every time I see that picture. He is obviously so comfortable with that shotgun and hunting in general.

Brand new hunting attire is also a giveaway.

I like the "sit on the bush" position. I've never taken that stance while hunting, I've been thinking of writing to find out if it was effective.

Oh bull. You know damn good and well that if no denial was issued, then the talking heads all over the "liberal" media would be excoriating them for their lavish spending.

You do remember the gigantic brouhaha over the weekend the Obamas spent in NYC??

Was that not turned into a big deal by their enemies?

I really don't think my dem brothers want to get into a who's phonier game.
As the Ketchup Hubbie picture shows dems stupidity can't be beat.

Nothing beat's midget Dukakis sitting on the tank

Again. Before the denial was issued it had never entered the news, and if it had it was on page 13 of the "Fashion" section. This is the first we (here on the board) hear of it, because of the denial. The denial made this news.

And even their "enemies" that tried to make a big deal of their shopping learned that what they spend their money on doesn't make a difference to Americans.

Seriously, this would never have hit even this board's radar without the denial. And even with the denial the story sucks. I don't give a crap what purse she wants to carry.

Really??

This story would NEVER have hit the board without the denial??

You don't think one of the "I hate Obama" crew might have posted this as an example of the "lavish lifestyle" the out of touch Obamas live while we the people suffer?

I doubt it, as I said, that story had no legs and even people who don't like Obama learn over time.

My point is, and remains, that this story became news because the Administration made a point to deny that it was their purse, that before that denial this never even got enough attention for even the most vehement Obama hater to find the story and even post it here on this tiny corner of the internet. Now, we're holding a conversation no the importance of the purse of the First Lady...

Nobody cared, until Obama cared enough to deny it.

totally expected reaction.."the Obama" haters posted this, waa waa waa

yet someone still posts about how much Palins wardrobe cost..

Maybe if you'd posted a picture of the bag itself, you know, to whet everyone's appetite, the topic would have been more compelling?

As I said in the other thread, it doesn't matter what Democrats do, Republicans like you will always find fault with something.

WOW

Question: Did the Democratic National Committee or taxpayers pay for Mrs. Obama's clothes and/or handbag .. OR did the Obama's pay for them.

If the latter is the case .. you people are braindead.

So he should have agreed with his detractors even though it wasn't true?
