My old high school team was the Chiefs. They changed the name because of wokeness. We always respected the name of Chiefs and honored them as mighty warriors.

It wasn't "wokeness" it was something far more nefarious called "being a decent person".


If someone is offended by cultural appropriation (by the race that spent decades attempting to annihilate and otherwise negate the humanity of the native Americans) then why insist on keeping the name?

But for SOME reason no one can understand you don't extend the same thing to Native Americans.
