White House says Donald Trump is serious about wanting the Commanders to revert to Redskins

That post doesn't really make any sense. But you do you.
It's the meth she smokes. She's a cook who samples her own recipes and it makes her loopy.

Hey I found a poll you are the one that is suggesting it isn't valid. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to find a poll that invalidates my poll. That is how it works, retard.
I included a link in my first post. It seems you are too stupid to understand what a link is since you asked me for a link so I simply provided it again.

I didn't give a thumbs down to ( post here... I don't do that... That being said ... I've never seen anyone use that word on purpose to try to be offensive.. kind of a desperate attempt to get a reaction that didn't happen... but a learning experience....(and now I know for sure that said person is not a teacher or parent....)

Redskins is a slur like yellowskins and slant eyes. The terms denigrate a people.

Misconception:

“Redskins / Redmen is Racist”

90% of Native Americans disagree with you/that statement.

Redskins / Redmen is a Native American iconic name and is revered by the vast majority of Native Americans and general public alike. Redskins / Redmen represents honor, respect and pride for Native American culture. Redskins / Redmen is and has been a self-identifying term for Natives since the early 1800s.

Context and intent matter. Activists intend to make Redskins / Redmen a pejorative term. NAGA disagrees and chooses to elevate and reclaim the Name Redskins / Redmen.

School boards and sports organizations have the opportunity to make this word officially hateful or honorable by their actions, for this generation and all those that follow. Choose wisely and keep this word from ever hurting others.

Redskins was originated by Native Americans to refer to themselves, the logo was designed and approved by Native American leaders, and the vast majority of both Native Americans and the public revere the Name.

“It's not a term that the white man created. It's actually a term that the Indians themselves created. I just think we have people in this country that try and gin up problems that don't exist." ~ Chief Robert “Two Eagles” Green of the Patawomeck Tribe

“Redskins” or “Red people” are the most authentic terms as the Native Americans used a color system to identify others. In the late 1600s and 1700s, the term was first used by Native Americans to self-describe and distinguish themselves from the White man and Black man. "Redskins" was first used as an inclusive expression of solidarity by multi-tribal delegations. Some early written recordings of the use of the word Redskins:

  1. In 1812, Chief Meskwaki Black Thunder is quoted, “I turn to all, red skins and white skins, and challenge an accusation against me.”
  2. In 1822, it is recorded that Big Elk (chief of the Omaha tribe) self-described himself as a Red Skin. In conversation with President James Monroe: “I am almost the only Red Skin opposed to war.”....

So you are OK with offending 30% of Native Americans.

Do you think they are less than you and so don't deserve respect? Why do you think they are less than you?

How am I offending 30% of Native Americans? You think I offend the feelings of Elizabeth (Pocahontas) Warren because
she claims to be a Native American? Who gives a shit what 30% of overly sensitive Native Americans think about wanting
to keep sports names that offends their sensitivities?

My goodness, there are a few minority Native Americans that get upset because their red skin color is used to describe them via
the Redskins? Radical liberals are always calling Trump the Orange man, yet Trump doesn't have orange skin, and he doesn't
get upset over the democrats' use of that color to describe him.

Yes, it is...
Silly name changes...for no good reason...since 1915 and 1937 all was well...I mean, really...
If you change a mascot every time someone is offended these days, there would be no mascots... (The $3.7 billion stadium deal, which includes $1.1 billion in local taxpayer funds, is in the hands of the District of Columbia Council...)
if a company wants to make a name change you or others think is silly why should government get involved with that decision?

What if a government thinks regular coke is good enough and no other versions of coke should be sold? Should the government be able to dictate that too?

Shouldn't they have been free to keep their name in the first place?
It was you leftists crying and screaming that you were offended that
forced changing pro sports team names high school names and mascots.
You are lying RB.

People registering their views of liking or not liking something DOES NOT force the company to do anything, so stop lying.

the company can choose to make a change or to tell them to stuff it. That is the companies choice.

You do not like the choice the company made so now you support bringing big government in to try and get the choice you prefer imposed. That is fascist and while you react to that, ...it simply is.

The coke with the cane sugar is happening...:)
I just want my Indians back...;)

Don't change long accepted and loved names...they were never meant or taken to be disrespectful ... What prompted the Redskin change?

This is why residents of DC want statehood. They don't have any autonomy despite paying federal taxes, and they have a tangerine oaf from Florida issuing demands about what DC is allowed to do.
They want statehood to pack the Senate and you know that very well.

How about they just join back up with Maryland instead?
