White kids riot over - surfing?

Ok, what is the definition of a riot?

Seeing as that I was living in South Central LA during the Rodney King riots that is what I usually think of when I hear riot. However much smaller acts can also be called riots. How do we define what is a riot and what isn't?

A disorganized group lashing out in a violent manner (ie... trashing property, clashing with police, etc...)

true... it is a matter of degrees.

A true Riot are the ones I listed above, historically they last days and days, involve casualties and wide scale damage and have a core issue to ignite them.

Rodney king was the VERDICT.
Detroit was a Race Riot.
Watts was a Race Riot
Crown Heights was over a Traffic Accident where an Orthodox Jew accidentally killed an African American child named Gavin Cato. This resulted in Lemrick Nelson and a Mob of African Americans murdering Australian Rabbinical Student Yankel Rosenbaum.

Crown Heigh

that is not true. A riot isn't defined by its magnitude, but by the actions of those participating. It could be 100 or 100000 people... and still be a riot.

have you not seen the threads for years from the right when ever they can find a case of a black person or persons commiting some crime?

I have posted stories of people who were heros who were black and the right hardly touches them.

boy they love the black while commiting a crime stories.

I posted another on this morning about a ten year old girl who helps save the neighbor kids from a fire.

Exactly. There are posters here who are very quick to post any incident of crime by black people and they use that to blame the whole race of crimes. I was looking here for a reaction along the lines of "that sucks that these people caused all this damage" from the right wing. I got none of that.

If this had been black people in Oakland, the right wingers would have been all over it.

Actually the last two riots in Oakland, after Trayvon and Oscar, were led by many people from outside Oakland.

And I was all over it because the Mayor Quan and the OPD absolutely suck. You rarely see this crap in San Francisco where the police will let you march but then beat the shit out of you once you start going after property. Oakland just sits back and essentially gives the thumbs up.

Try reading the story sometime, the ones arrested were not locals.

Liar.

* Michael John Lytle, 30, of Anaheim, arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. (ORANGE CO)

* Andres Gomez, 24, of Huntington Beach, arrested on suspicion of refusing to disperse and resisting arrest.

* Michael Anthony Avila, 28, of Santa Ana, arrested on suspicion of resisting or delaying a police officer. (ORANGE CO)

* Joseph Monterrosa, 28, of Ontario, arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

* Adam A. Cecot, 18, of Irvine, arrested on suspicion of refusing to disperse/unlawful assembly. (ORANGE CO)

* Chase Scott Christman, 19, of Simi Valley, arrested on suspicion of vandalism over $400, urging destruction of property and refusing to disperse/unlawful assembly; (REPUBLICAN COUNTY)

Orange County, is, of course, decidedly republican. It's also the county Huntington Beach is located in.
* Kyle Roger Crott, 18, of Riverside, charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer and resisting arrest. (ORANGE CO)

Exactly. When I spoke about the riots in Oakland and said they weren't locals I meant they weren't from Oakland. Most were from the East Bay.
