I can’t answer specifically but I actually know someone who married a Mexican that has been here since she was three and didn’t realize she was undocumented.
They’re going through a helluva time trying to straighten it all up, hiring lawyers and such.
And that was during Brandon’s regime.
It’s been going on for a couple of years now.
So they have ways of knowing apparently.

I know everybody who is allowed to be in my house. That’s how I determine. Do you know everybody who is allowed to be in the United States?

No. I'm not an illegal so have no need to, but could produce evidence that I am a citizen. We could easily make a drivers license proof of citizenship. Those who are here legally could prove that and get a license indicating they are legal aliens. Once they become citizens they could be issued a citizens drivers license. You people will do nothing but whine how this can't happen. It can happen.

The only way for the authorities to know you aren't here illegally is if you carry papers. Otherwise they would need to hold you in detention until you can prove you are a citizen.

It isn't that easy to make a drivers license proof of citizenship since drivers licenses are issued by states. You are saying the federal government can force states to issue new ids to all the state citizens and do it in a time frame that would be impossible in most states since they normally only issue licenses to 2% of their residents on a monthly basis. Clearly you have never been in charge of any project that requires planning. Did your job description only require you to be able to say, "Do you want fries with that?" Issuing new ids based on citizenship would require checking the paperwork of everyone that applies or it would result in issuing ids to non citizens. It would take 12-24 months to do that paperwork and issue an id with current staff and funding. But maybe they could hire the illegal farm workers to do the paperwork since there would be no US citizens available since they are all now doing farm work.

Incorrect. When or if you apply for a license show proof of having been born here or having gone through a port of entry. Your license can reflect your status. The only reason to oppose this is for illicit purposes. There is no legitimate reason not to expect that people who are here are here legally.

LOL. That means people won't have an ID showing their status for 4 years or more depending on each state's length of license validity. (Texas licenses are good for 6 years.)
