Just opened up to my age group, apparently ahead of schedule (thanks President Biden), and I registered for a dose.

My concern is that Republicans will not get vaccinated in sufficient numbers, and we will have hordes of diseased Deplorables walking amongst us.

The only place I'm aware of that is letting you pick is Publix, you can make an appointment for the J&J one day a week. I got offered an appointment at a FEMA site the day I became eligible. Pfizer for me. I go back in two weeks for number two.

There is an alarming trend up here in the frozen north. We now have plenty of vaccine. Anyone age 16 and up and can sign up. ~40% of the population has been fully or half-vaccinated, yet sign-ups are lagging behind supply. The health depts are urging ppl to sign up or we won't be reaching herd immunity. Plus the unvaxxed (we call them the "unclean" lol) are a source for virus mutation. Maybe they should offer incentives, like 5% off your bill at restaurants/bars if you can show that you've had both vaccines, and you don't have to wear a mask when you walk through the door.

If that carrot doesn't work, get out the stick. "No entry unless you can show that you're fully vaccinated." We already don't allow smoking in public places; let's extend that to not allowing the unclean either.

If only. But no, we'll just keep them out of public places where they could spread the disease. I like the vaccination passport idea. I suspect this summer is going to be no vaccine = no fun.

I'm not a fan. BUT... I'm in favor of businesses requiring that you show your I'm-fully-vaccinated card at the door for entry into the business. No card, no entrance. Remember how many groceries set aside an hour or two early in the morning for seniors and those at risk to shop? Do that with the COVID lepers. They can shop/dine/work out between 9 pm and 11 pm, as long as they wear a mask. Oh, and your kids can't go to in-person school if you're not fully vaxxed, either.
