Bush was playing the long game, no matter what eventually somebody will come around who's more incompetent than you are. Trump genuinely makes Bush look like the greatest president this country has ever had.

Bush had his part to play in the financial crash but Clinton signed the Financial Sevices Modernisation Act which replaced Glass-Steagall and enabled casino banking to bloom.
