Why are conservatives so susceptible to lies?

They are extremely susceptible to being conned. They are absolutely taken by Trump. He can do no wrong and everything he says and does is great. Trump is essentially a terrible human being with emotional flaws and destructive and vengeful nature. He is flat out uncaring and as mean as a junkyard dog. Piss him off and he will do his best to destroy you...and he will enjoy it.

Now the author is definitely not wrong that partisans accept lies hook, line and sinker told by politicians. That also transcends political party or ideology.

For the sake of argument let's say the author is correct, considering how much you like lying Jarod how come you aren't on the political right?

Trump is different. He is not a politician, but a conman. When he was thinking about running he debated whether to run as a Dem or a Repub. He figured correctly that the Reds were easier to con. When he announced,most establishment Repugs said he was not a Repub. But he conned the low information and far right followers so thoroughly that they all fell in line.
When Trump is gone the Repubs in office will tell the truth and to rightys it will be shocking. Most are like Lindsey who sold out to stay in power. Once Daffy cannot hurt them, they will confess . They will gut him in the end.

Jarod, I am a life long Republican. I can be just as partisan as the next person. Because my world does not revolve around every single movement of the President does not make me non partisan. You can't help yourself with the lying.

And all you have to do to bring his laser focus upon you is point out any truth which implicates him or he perceives to do so.

There was one thing in the article that struck me as spot-on:

I totally agree with that.
