Why are conservatives so susceptible to lies?

I think the basic question that divides conservatives from sensible people is, 'How do the rich get rich?' If you can manage to believe it is a noble and admirable process you'll believe anything! Conservatives find it useful so to believe, because they can keep in with the bosses that way.

For example, I've not seen one well to do liberal on this board say they have gotten their money from theft. I've read liberal posters say they've worked hard, paid their way through school to put themselves in a position to achieve economic success etc. But I've not seen one say they've simply stole their money and done nothing to earn it.

In your opinion why is that? (and I ask that because you are the one making it a conservative/liberal thing)

Note who switched the subject to guns It is an endless litany of rightys because it works so well. It keeps you kids living in fear that that mechanical device makes you so formidable that you would live in terror without it. There are some people who think America would be a better and safer place if guns were gone. They are absolutely correct. But political facts and lobbying power make it so that we will be ass deep in guns for mass murders to come.

This makes me ask again if we live in the same country. I don't own a gun. I don't shoot guns. I couldn't tell you the last time I saw a gun that wasn't in the holster of a police officer. But I'm aware of the mass shootings that have occurred and the press they have received. And the calls from (certain) politicians and American citizens for stricter guns laws.

So I am truly baffled how you say liberals don't care about guns.

Most of them are aware they are telling lies- but they also know that about half of their support comes from stupid racist inbred hillbilly country bumkins who will believe anything they are told!!

I mentioned your obsession with guns as part of the thread, then you took off and made it the subject of the thread.
As I've said before, if you could get rid of all of the guns, you would still have the behavior and just as many or more would die. But if we could do something about the behavior, the guns wouldn't matter. If you banned guns the criminals would still have them and violent crime would skyrocket. Your position on guns is based entirely on wishful thinking, not reality.

I am struck by the observation that the difference between the left and right is that the right thinks people are naturally bad and the left thinks people are basically good.

The right is suspicious of everybody, and therefore more susceptible to conspiracy theories.

Care is one thing. Actually doing something about it is another. The vast majority of Dems have moved on to dealing with political realities. I would love guns to be gone, but that will not happen. The only time i think about them at all is when rightys cry about them. That is too damn often.
Gun removal is so far on the back burners that it almost does not exist. There are rightys who wish we did not have guns too.
It is not a real campaign issue.

Pretty much agree with that, though I would state it as righties are paranoid about anyone who isn't just like them.
