Most of today's Republicans are totally politically illiterate, and most of the rest are cynical propagandists who play on the general ignorance of the base to make lazy gee-whiz assertions that lack substance or coherence.

Essentially, everyone who doesn’t think like them is “evil” because Communists, Nazis and Liberals (oh my!) are all “leftists” aka “evil”.

The fact that this is total nonsense goes over the heads and hearts of the braying dolts who vote for the right. The modern Republican Party has become an Orwellian horror. War is Peace, Ignorance is Strength, Trump is Godly, Leftism is Nazism. It’s like someone in the party strategy room read 1984 and said to themselves “that’s a double plus good idea! ”

There was once a time when the Republicans were much better than this. What happened to them?

Some people talk about guns. Almost all leftys spend about zero time talking about it. We know there will be nothing significant done. However lots of people in Las Vegas, ElPaso and Dayton are talking about guns. Wonder why'

Judging from the campaign talk and what I see here, many lefties are obsessed with guns. What you should be talking about are all the existing restrictions that make it so easy for the mass shooters. You also should be talking about what motivates them. But you're too obsessed with guns to look at anything else.
